MANAGING THE TURBULENCE: COURSE CORRECTION, CHANGING ALTITUDE
One of the most important, and sometimes most difficult, decisions in our lives is determining what
career path to choose. Many of us will have several careers in our lifetime: sometimes working for
others, sometimes working for ourselves, and sometimes working as volunteers. Many will retire and
then seek an encore career. Our panel will share how to reinvent yourself and still keep your place in
the community. We will tap into how to manage the turbulence; how to identify opportunities for course
correction and share strategies on how to do this gracefully and successfully.
MISSION CONTROL TO WLP: WE HAVE LIFT OFF
Consider the impact of the legacy of philanthropy throughout generations. Whether our grandparents or
parents charted our course of giving by their example or whether we initiate the mission and the journey
ourselves, the desire to make a difference is an inherent part of many people’s DNA, especially women.
Our panel will share their journey of paying it forward, the role that support from family has played in
their philanthropic journey, and how outside influences such as peers, teachers, and their community
empowered them to lift off and chart theirown course to a life of impactful, fulfilling giving.
to reach your goals, both personally and professionally-sometimes it is
UP, UP AND AWAY: THE POWER OF MENTORING
Mentoring has become a very hot topic in professional development. While
some women are comfortable reaching out and asking for mentorship,
others are not quite sure where to start or what the benefits of mentoring
might be. Join us for a panel discussion on why mentoring is important,
and how to select a mentor, and how to mentor someone. For those who
have been mentored, have you considered when it is time to take the next
step to become a mentor yourself? When you decided, how do you make
that transition? The panel will also elaborate on the benefits a corporate
SPONSORED BY:
mentoring program can offer to both the ROI of the company and for the morale of the employees. Most
importantly, you’ll be challenged to think about how mentoring is a two way street where the mentor
and mentee are able to learn from each other and grow together. Take a fresh look at mentoring.
CHART YOUR COURSE TO GOOD HEALTH
Many of us have so many responsibilities in life that we forget to take SPONSORED BY:
care of ourselves. With all the demands of family and work, many women
do not make their own health a priority, yet we book our kids’ annual
physicals a year in advance or drive our parents to and from their doctors’
appointments. While it’s hard to prioritize, self-care is an important aspect
of stress management. This panel will discuss the importance of taking
control of your health as well as share some of the recent technological advances that will influence you.
We will discuss solutions that affect all ages and share strategies to help women overcome some of the
common barriers to self-care, such as time, money and motivation.
