OPTION 2 – PLEASURE Vs PROFIT SESSIONS
Many people may not have the time to take a full or even a half-day out to attend
workshops on these issues. Very often all that is available is a couple of hours so the
DVD could be used in a short focused session.
A. SCREEN DEBATE
Highlight the issues with a screening of the DVD followed by discussions with an
invited panel of relevant agencies such as:
Violence against Women partner agencies

the local police public protection unit
education / youth work
Child Protection Network / officers.
B. SHORT SESSION

A short 2 hr session could take the format of:
Introducing the DVD with some background information shared on people's
concerns, the background and approach to the DVD and how any discussions

could be managed, acknowledging that there could be differences in opinion.
Setting the scene – highlight the context in which the DVD was made with
growing concerns not just amongst parents / carers but across different sectors

who work with CYP.
Show the DVD and allow viewers some time to gather their thoughts and
observations. The DVD could be played the whole way through or stopped at the
end of the different sections.
Discussions – We have included some suggested prompt questions. The audience
may not need these but they can be useful to keep discussions focused on the
issues presented.
