26 | <strong>ARCTIC</strong> <strong>OBITER</strong> by Mark Aitken, Director of Legislation Division, GNWT Justice NWT LEGISLATIVE NEWS PETROLEUM PRODUCTS TAX ACT An Act to Amend the Petroleum Products Tax Act, S.N.W.T. 2009, c. 21, amending the Petroleum Products Tax Act to replace the defined term ‚motor vehicle‛ with the new defined term ‚mobile machine‛ and to provide for application and commencement matters, came into force on Assent on October 27, 2009. PUBLIC HEALTH ACT In the further implementation of the new Public Health Act which came into force on September 14, 2009, the Reportable Disease Control Regulations were made on November 2, 2009 by instrument numbered R-128-2009 and the Reportable Diseases Order made under the now repealed Disease Registries Act was also repealed in consequence. In addition, the Liquor Regulations made under the Liquor Act have been amended to properly refer to regulations recently enacted under the new Public Health Act.
