In the Spirit of Giving...
Members set an impressive
benchmark at this year’s Christmas
Dinner. At the request of Erin
Delaney and Kelly McLaughlin, Co-
Chairs of the Social Committee,
members and guests went above and
beyond anyone’s expectations with
donations of food and money for the
Yellowknife Food Bank.
The donations continued at the Law
Society office as well. By the end, it
took four people to deliver the boxes
of food. As well, a total of $750 was
donated on behalf of the Law Society,
the CBA-NT, former president
Karen Lajoie (in lieu of a
parting gift), and from
members of the bench and bar.
(An additional $110 was
donated to the Yellowknife
Playschool Association on
behalf of Leanne Dragon,
former vice-president.)
Thank you to everybody who
donated. It was truly a warm gesture
to provide so much to those in need.
The bar has been raised, and I
personally challenge everyone to

double (and triple) your efforts next
year. And remember, hunger is not
limited to the holidays. Please think
of those in need throughout the year.
