BLOOD OF CHRIST
• PRINCIPLE OF THE BLOOD:
A. Leviticus 17:11: For the life of a creature is in the
is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make
atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the
blood that makes atonement for one’s life.

B. Exodus 12:13: (Passover) “The blood will be a
sign for you on the houses where you are: and
when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No
destructive plague will touch you when I strike
Egypt.
C. Leviticus 16: 17­19 (Day of atonement)
D. Hebrews 9:22: In fact, the law requires that nearly
everything be cleansed with blood, and without the
shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

2. POWER OF THE BLOOD:
A. Redemption: Ephesians 1:17: I keep asking that
the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious
Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and
revelation, so that you may know him better.
* I Peter 1:18: For you know that it was not with
perishable things such as silver or gold that you
were redeemed from the empty way of life handed
down to you from your forefathers.
* Revelations 1:5: and from Jesus Christ, who is
the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead,
and the ruler of the kings of earth. To him who
loves us and has freed us from our sins by his
blood.

B. Justification: Romans 5:9: Since we have been
justified by his blood, how much more shall we
be saved from God’s wrath through him!
3. PEACE OF THE BLOOD:
A. Ephesians 2:13: But now in Christ Jesus you
who once were far away have been brought
near through the blood of Christ.
B. Colossians 1:20: And through him to reconcile to
himself all things, whether things on earth or
things in heaven, by making peace through his
blood, shed on the cross.

4. PERMANANCE OF THE BLOOD: Hebrews 7­10
5. PURPOSE OF THE BLOOD:
Revelations 5:9: And they sang a new song: “You
are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals,
because you were slain, and with your blood and
with your blood you purchased men for God from
every tribe and language and people and nation.
“You have made them to be a kingdom and priests
to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”

6. PROTECTION OF THE BLOOD: Revelations 12:11
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by
the word of their testimony: they did not love their lives
so much as to shrink from death.
COMMUNION
I Corinthians 11:25: In the same way, after supper he took
the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my
blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance
of me.”
