Class of ’12 Serves the
Students of San Miguel
On Wednesday, September 8, ten
members from the Class of 2012
traveled with Assistant Headmaster Mike
Nerbonne to the San Miguel School in
Providence to deliver backpacks and
supplies to the students. The trip was a
wonderful experience for the students from
both schools. In addition to the distribution
of the backpacks, the group had the
opportunity to sit and talk before the San
Miguel students headed back to class and the
St. Sebastian’s group returned to Needham.
Now in its fourth year, the trip is the final
part of a service project that begins each
summer when the families of the Class of
2012 are contacted and invited to participate.
Some families donate supplies and cash,
others participate in the assembly and
delivery of the backpacks.
Thanks to their support, the students of
San Miguel have the materials they need for a
successful school year.
Alumni Crew Volunteers
at “The Abbey”
During the month of September several
alumni formed crews and worked at
“The Abbey” in Marshfield, helping
Monsignor Contons button up his home for
the coming winter.
“The Abbey” was originally purchased in
1952 by six priests, several of whom taught at
various times at St. Sebastian’s (Fathers
Barrett, Contons, Gilmartin, and Mahoney).
Alumni from the 1950s through the 1970s
have fond memories of these great men and
have been more than eager to help the last
surviving owner, Contons, with some
maintenance jobs around the property.
Fall Service Project
Close to 50 fathers and their sons
participated in the Men’s Association
Fall Service Project on Saturday, November
20, 2010. The volunteers gathered at St.
Sebastian’s in the morning and were split
into groups. With the help of the Natick
Council on Aging, groups were dispersed to
elderly residents’ homes to rake leaves and
prepare the yards for the upcoming winter.
Assistant Headmaster Mike Nerbonne and juniors Sean Frazzette, Curtis Yandow, Matt Angelico, Chris Barletta, Dan Conley, David
Loughborough, Brendan Dunphy, Andrew Bono, Tyler Sweeney, and Peter Cimini after their trip to the San Miguel School.
