The Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Association<br />
The Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Association is the industry association for<br />
the winemakers and grape growers of the Mornington Peninsula Wine Region.<br />
The key objectives of the Association are:<br />
• To enhance the profile of the Mornington Peninsula wine region and market it<br />
as a leading producer of high quality, maritime, cool climate wines.<br />
• To foster the development of expertise within the industry by facilitating<br />
technical and commercial training.<br />

The Mornington Peninsula is a leading producer of maritime, cool climate<br />
wines. Today the region comprises more than 170 vineyards with total plantings<br />
of more than 775 hectares. The total area planted has almost doubled since<br />
1996. The Mornington Peninsula’s two main wine varieties - Pinot Noir and<br />
Chardonnay - have increased to almost 80% of hectares planted.<br />

Peninsula has to offer. The Winter Wine Fest is a great way to start the<br />
weekend. It’s an opportunity to sample a wide variety of Mornington<br />
Peninsula wines, many new releases, compare wine styles from different<br />
vineyards, talk to the winemakers and discover new wines. There are<br />
seminars on Mornington Peninsula wine varieties pinot noir, chardonnay &<br />
others running throughout the day.<br />
In addition, more than 40 wineries from Mt Eliza to Flinders to Merricks to<br />
Sorrento will hold special wine tastings, tours and functions with delicious<br />
food - music ranging from opera to jazz throughout the weekend. Plan to<br />
stay the weekend and enjoy the abundance on offer in our region! Or come<br />
back on quieter winter weekends and take some leisurely wine tours or<br />
seminars……..<br />
