Wildbunch Rodeo results
Organizers of the Wild Bunch Reunion
Association Rodeo on May 12-13 say the
event was an overwhelming success, despite
being upstaged temporarily by a tornado.
Plans are being made to bring the rodeo
back to Magdalena next year, and several
sponsors have already signed on.

Missoula Children’s Theatre
looking for young actors
An audition will be held for the
Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production
of The Secret Garden on Monday,
June 11, at Finley Gym from 10 a.m. to
noon. Those auditioning should arrive no
later than 10 a.m. and plan to stay for the
full two hours.
Some of the cast members will be asked
to stay for a rehearsal immediately following
the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are Mary
Lennox, Martha Sowerbury, Dickon
Sowerbury, Colin Craven, Archibald
Craven, Ayah/Bilge Rat/Captain, Mrs.
Medlock, Doctor Craven, Ben
Weatherstaff, Robin Redbreast, the Bugs
that Rock, the Canadian Geese, the Moor
Folk, the Fireflies and the Secret Garden.
There will be a $20 registration fee for
all those chosen for the cast, including assistant
directors.
All students, grades 1 through 12, are
encouraged to audition. No advance preparation
is necessary except a willingness to
try. Assistant Directors will also be cast to
help with the technical aspects of the production.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring
productions are complete with costumes,
scenery, props and makeup.
“While children enjoy their week with
the Missoula Children’s Theatre, they’re
also developing critical life skills such as
teamwork, communication and social skills,
and self-discipline,” said MCT executive
director Michael McGill, “Our mission is
the development of life skills in children
through participation in the performing
arts,” he continued.
Each show title MCT offers is based
upon a fairy tale which resonates with audiences
of all ages. “To keep the touring
repertoire fresh, we add a new original show
each year,” says Naomi Lichtenberg, MCT
foundation relations director. “The Secret
Garden, this year’s show, was written by
Michael McGill.”
MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct
rehearsals throughout the week from
10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.
Missoula Children’s Theatre will also
offer free theatre workshops on Tuesday-
Thursday, 3 p.m., at the Socorro Youth
Center (behind Spin City on Bullock).
The schedule is as follows:
“Drama Quest,” Tuesday, June 12,
grades 1-2
“What If?” Wednesday, June 13, grades
3-5
“Let’s Make-Up,” Thursday, June 14,
all ages.
The Secret Garden performances will
be on Saturday, June 16, at Finley Gym, 1
p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults
and free for youth 17 and under.
