SENIOR BIOS<br />

Breanna Beaver<br />

Breanna Beaver, a <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>McGuinness</strong> senior has been on Dancevisions<br />

for three years. This experience has led her to many great things in the<br />

past few years. She has developed tremendously as a dancer, and made<br />

some of her best friends on DV. She was recently accepted into the dance<br />

department at the University of Central Oklahoma and plans on attending<br />

UCO in the fall. Breanna would like to thank all of her family for their<br />

years of love and support.<br />

Ashley Graham<br />

This is Ashley’s first year on DanceVisions. She has taken Dance 2 &<br />

Dance 3 classes at <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>McGuinness</strong>. Ashley attended Classen School of<br />

Advanced Studies her freshman year as a drama major. She has been cast<br />

in many musical theatre productions at Lyric Theatre including Cinderella,<br />

Anything Goes, and Meet Me In St. Louis. Ashley plans to attend the<br />

University of Central Oklahoma in the fall.<br />

Sarah McAnulty<br />

Sarah McAnulty is a 4-year member of DanceVisions and is a co-captain<br />

this year. She has been dancing for 12 years and is currently dancing at<br />

Dance Phase in Edmond where she takes technique classes and is on the<br />

competition team. DanceVisions has been a great way for Sarah to be<br />

involved in the <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>McGuinness</strong> community. Next year, Sarah will be<br />

attending Oklahoma City University as a Dance Management major.<br />

Megan Moore<br />

This is Megan’s first year on Dance Visions and fourth year in the dance<br />

program at <strong>McGuinness</strong>. She plans to attend Oklahoma State University<br />

in the fall. She would like to thank the whole DV team for a great year<br />

and wishes them all good luck! I love you all!!!<br />

Devin Murphy<br />

Devin has been dancing for 14 years now. She was trained in classical ballet<br />

and danced with the school of Ballet Oklahoma Oklahoma (now OKC<br />

Ballet) until last year when she took dance three here at <strong>Bishop</strong> Mcguinness.<br />

She is excited to be performing with DanceVisions this year!<br />

Marissa Wolf<br />

Marissa Wolf has been on DanceVisions for three years, and is Co-Captain<br />

along with Sarah McAnulty. She has been dancing since she was three<br />

years old, her favorite genre of dance being contemporary. After graduation<br />

she plans on attending either the Art Institute of Austin, or Oklahoma<br />

State University where she will double major in graphic design and<br />

studio art. She would like to thank her Mom and Dad for making her last<br />

eighteen years possible, along with her Aunt Micki for being her creative<br />

outlet in life.


CHOREOGRAPHER BIOS<br />

Fran Barton<br />

Fran Barton holds the Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from the<br />

University of Oklahoma. She has performed with Tulsa Civic Ballet<br />

(now Tulsa Ballet Theater), Junior Dance Theater of Tulsa, and Oklahoma<br />

Festival Ballet. She has owned her own dance studio and has<br />

taught at University of Central Oklahoma, Heritage Hall, and Classical<br />

Ballet School. She established DanceVisions in the early 1990’s<br />

and taught dance at <strong>McGuinness</strong> for 22 years. She has been Fine Arts<br />

Coordinator for the past 10 years. She and husband, Craig, write and<br />

produce music and have recently released a CD. Fran feels her greatest<br />

professional accomplishment, however, has been sharing her love<br />

of dance with so many students over the years.<br />

Carmen Downey<br />

Carmen Downey began her dance training at the age of 3 in Seattle,<br />

WA. As a teenager, Carmen trained extensively in dance at Elizabeth’s<br />

Dance Dimensions and at Westlake Dance Center. Carmen<br />

began teaching at a young age through the student teacher program at<br />

Elizabeth’s Dance Dimensions. In 1998 Carmen earned a Full-Summer<br />

scholarship to Westlake Dance Center. In 2001 Carmen moved to New<br />

York where she earned the prestigious Richard Ellner Scholarship, a<br />

program that allowed Carmen to train professionally in all styles of<br />

dance while also helping to guide her professional career. Carmen<br />

has choreographed for All City Jazz Dance Company (WA), Westlake<br />

Dance Center (WA), En L’air – annual benefit concert (WA), The Vibe<br />

Dance Company(OK), R.A.C.E. Dance Company (OK), and most<br />

recently BMCHS Dance Visions Dance Company (OK). Carmen is currently<br />

an instructor of dance at Dance Unlimited in Edmond, OK. She<br />

is also the assistant director for Dance Unlimited’s award winning The<br />

Vibe Dance Company. As a performer, Carmen has been a member of<br />

dance companies: Mo-Dazz (WA), Westlake Performing Group (WA),<br />

Cruz Control (WA), Phoenix Rising (NY), & is currently in her second<br />

season with Oklahoma’s own R.A.C.E. Dance Company.

Brandi Gable<br />

Brandi began her dancing at the age of 4. Growing up in Midwest City, she studied<br />

at Karen’s Kids Studio of Performing Arts for 15 years and graduated as a dance m<br />

jor from Classen School of Advanced Studies. Although Brandi’s principle discipli<br />

is jazz, she also has extensive training in ballet, modern, tap, hip hop, & musical<br />

theatre. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor i<br />

Dance Perforance in the summer of 2009. While at UCO, Brandi was a member of<br />

the Kaleidoscope Dance Company and served as Rehearsal Director and Office As<br />

sistant her senior year. Brandi has been choreographing and teaching since she wa<br />

16 years old. She has taught & choreographed for Dance Unlimited, BMCHS Danc<br />

Visions, Karen’s Kids, Classen SAS, Wilson Elementary, Deer Creek Pom, Massey<br />

DanceStar, Diversified, Just Dance/Just Cheer, several Miss UCO contestants, Mis<br />

Oklahoma contestants, Prairie Dance Theatre’s Junior Company, UCO dancers, &<br />

r.a.c.e. dance company. Brandi is also very proud to be a 3rd year member of Okla<br />

homa’s 1st Jazz Dance company, r.a.c.e. dance company. In her free time (which is<br />

scarce!) she enjoys reading, watching GLEE & anything on Bravo, and cooking wi<br />

her longtime boyfriend Jake.<br />

Willis Johnston<br />

Willis Johnston, a native Oklahoman, received his training from Southern Method<br />

ist University, and graduated Magna cum Laude in 2009. At SMU, he performed<br />

works by Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Danny Buraczeski, Max Stone, and Eleo Pomare.<br />

He also choreographed many pieces for student choreography concerts,<br />

including Push/Pull, which won DanceSpirit’s video of the month. Since moving<br />

New York, Willis has danced with Amy Marshall Dance Company, The Chase Bro<br />

Experience, Cherice Barton, and at the Metropolitan Opera in “Nixon in China”.<br />

He is currently a performer in the Vegas Cirque De Soleil show “Elvis”. Willis love<br />

sharing the gift of dance through choreographing and performing, and believes it<br />

the most beautiful universal language!<br />

Cameron Lee<br />

Cameron Lee is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Modern<br />

Performance. Mr. Lee has been taught by Derrick Minter, Austin Hartel, Destini<br />

Rogers, Mary M. Holt, Donn Edwards, Steve Brule, Jeremy Lindberg at OU.<br />

He has performed in works by Derrick Minter, Austin Hartel, Robert Battle, Alvin<br />

Ailey, Christopher Huggins, Jeremy Lindberg, Bruce Wells, George Balanchine,<br />

Agnes de Mille, Cheyla Clawson and many others. His own choreography works<br />

include Flamas De Amor, For You, Too Late, Sleep Over and his collaborations wi<br />

Cheyla Clawson include Beyond Pash and Beginning From, and Ending At... Mr.<br />

Lee has performed for the arts festival in Shang Hai and Ningbo, China. He has<br />

been awarded and recognized by Miguel Terekhov, a former Ballet Russe de Mont<br />

Carlos principal dancer, for his choreography at OU. Mr. Lee believes that when<br />

dancer performs, should always tell a story and always give something back to th<br />

observer.

Auditions 2011<br />

Who? All current & incoming BMCHS students who<br />

have a passion for dance, enjoy learning many<br />

styles of dance, & love working hard!<br />

When? Auditions:<br />

-Saturday, May 7th @ 1:00-3:30pm<br />

Call Back Interviews:<br />

-Sunday, May 8th starting @ 1pm<br />

Where? BMCHS Dance Studio<br />

Attire? It will be a jazz audition, so jazz shoes are<br />

preferred. You must wear a leotard (any<br />

color) and black tights (either under or over<br />

the leotard).<br />

Ms. Gable & a guest judge will be looking for...<br />

** An intermediate/advanced knowledge of dance vocabulary<br />

** An ability to learn & perform choreography quickly<br />

** An ability to take & apply correction quickly<br />
