the element of finger tip control.
The Eyes
The Compass is the
eye of the pilot, keeping
control over the
course. By adding a
rate gyro the compass
provides accurate
heading information.
The Control
The AP24 and AP28
autopilot systems can
be controlled with a
dedicated Autopilot
control head or with
an NSO, NSE or NSS
system.
The Rudder
The Rudder
Position Sensor
improves the
performance of the
pilot, and contributes
to gentle and accurate
steering.
The Brain
The autopilot computer is the brain and the
heart of the system, processing navigation
data from the compass, GPS and instrument
system to an output of smooth proportional
control of the rudder. Simrad Yachting
Autopilot computers come in various power
ratings suited to a variety of vessel sizes.
The Muscle
The drive actuator is the muscle
that actually moves the rudder.
It comes in different models to fit
the type and size of the vessel’s
steering systems.
