five year agreement to allow Scout Properties (BC/Yukon) Ltd. to occupy <strong>the</strong> Scout Hall, on <strong>the</strong><br />

same terms <strong>the</strong> current agreement, to be brought forward for formal consideration.<br />

3. 2013-273 SCOUTS CANADA – GREATER VICTORIA AREA, Sept. 4, 2013<br />

Re Request for Apple Tag Day – Oct. 5, 2013<br />

Seconded by Councillor Herbert, That permission be granted to Scouts Canada, Greater Victoria<br />

Area, to conduct an apple tag day in public places in Oak Bay on October 5, 2013.<br />

Re Request to Occupy Municipal Parking Space<br />

Seconded by Councillor Ney, That permission be given for <strong>the</strong> Victoria Car Share Cooperative to<br />

occupy one parking space at <strong>the</strong> Monterey Avenue parking lot adjacent to <strong>the</strong> Monterey Centre for a<br />

two year period, and that <strong>the</strong> Mayor and Municipal Clerk be authorized to execute an agreement<br />

with <strong>the</strong> Victoria Car Share Cooperative for <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> parking space.<br />

Seconded by Councillor Ney, That <strong>the</strong> minutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Oak Bay Heritage Committee <strong>meeting</strong> held<br />

on September 10, 2013, be received.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Municipal Administrator responded to questions from Council with respect to potential issues<br />

arising from advisory committees, such as <strong>the</strong> Heritage Commission, having individual email<br />

accounts. Mr. Nason noted that staff members would discuss <strong>the</strong> proposal with <strong>the</strong> Heritage<br />

Commission.<br />

During Council discussion it was also noted that careful consideration should be given to <strong>the</strong> cost<br />

and intention <strong>of</strong> reprinting “More Than Bricks and Boards” and that <strong>the</strong> Heritage Commission<br />

should be congratulated on <strong>the</strong>ir recently published walking brochure.<br />

<strong>The</strong> question was <strong>the</strong>n called.<br />
