A hardy, cascading form of <strong>Linden</strong> with consistent golden foliage in the fall and<br />

high resistance to sunscald.<br />

An open pollinated seedling of a Littleleaf <strong>Linden</strong> from a Manchurian<br />

source. Developed by Dr. Wilbert Ronald of Jeffries Nurseries Ltd.<br />

Growth Rate:<br />

Medium, similar to other Littleleaf <strong>Linden</strong> cultivars.<br />

Description:<br />

A medium sized tree that has a globe-shaped crown with a cascading<br />

branch habit. The leaves are smaller than in most <strong>Linden</strong> hybrids and<br />

consistently turn a golden colour in the fall.<br />

Culture:<br />

Grows best in full sunlight or partial shade. Prefers well drained,<br />

medium textured soils with adequate moisture. Same basic requirements<br />

as other Littleleaf <strong>Linden</strong> cultivars.<br />

Pest and Disease: High resistance to sun scald.<br />

Landscape Value:<br />

Excellent as a shade tree displaying a cascading crown form for larger<br />

spaces in residential and recreational areas.<br />

Sales Potential:<br />

<strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Cascade</strong> <strong>Linden</strong> has the distinction of being one of the few shade<br />

trees with a cascading crown form. This unique trait may allow this<br />

cultivar to be promoted as a replacement to the Cutleaf Weeping Birch.<br />
