Capacities
Due to licensing restrictions, the maximum number of
guests in these spaces must not exceed 60, regardless
of the style of event taking place.
In combination with the lower foyer (main reception area)
capacity increases to 135, split over the 2 floors.
Air conditioned
Yes (Pavilion only).
Lighting
Overhead lighting only. Lots of natural light as the room
is made of glass. Other lighting available via Southbank
Centre Production.
Furniture
Furniture available elsewhere on the site (eg poseur
tables, coffee tables) can be moved to this room subject
to availability.
Finishes
Pavilion: glass walls and glass ceiling, rubber tiling on
floors.
Project Space: changes depending on the art installation
in situ at any one time.
Additional/associated spaces
The main reception area of the Hayward can be used
as an additional space for registrations or as part of the
reception.
OUTSIDE SPACE
A substantial balcony runs round the Pavilion.
Access
Both spaces are disabled accessible. There is no Goods
Lift to these spaces, all equipment is taken via the
passenger lift.
Toilets
Toilets are located off the main reception area one floor
below and are shared with patrons of the Hayward bar,
‘Concrete’.
Kitchen facilities
None – please use one of our on-site caterers for catering
in this space.
Cost
Note these spaces are only available for hire outside
Gallery opening hours.
Breakfast (before 10am),
private view and reception: £3,000
Breakfast, reception only: £1,800
Evening (after 6.30pm),
private view and reception: £5,000
Evening, reception only: £1,800

OTHER
No food or drink can be taken into the Galleries or Project
Space when there is an exhibition taking place. All food
and drink must be served in the front-of-house areas as
detailed above.
