Charles Rennie Mackintosh
1868–1928.
Architect. Artist. Designer. Icon.
The work of the Scottish architect, designer
and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh is today
celebrated internationally. Mackintosh was one
of the most sophisticated exponents of the
theory of the room as a work of art, and created
distinctive furniture of great formal elegance. In
Glasgow, you will see the finest examples of his
buildings and interiors and examples of his creative
collaborations with his wife, the accomplished
artist and designer Margaret Macdonald.
