<strong>RTS</strong> <strong>Instructor</strong> <strong>Bios</strong><br />

<strong>Matthew</strong> J. <strong>Bernier</strong>, <strong>RTS</strong>M <strong>MAT</strong><br />

Denver, CO<br />

Matt holds the distinction of being one of the first certified<br />

Muscle Activation Therapists in the nation. He is also a Master<br />

Level Resistance Training Specialist and has been certified as a<br />

personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise since 1995.<br />

Matt is a Northern Virginia native and graduated from George<br />

Mason University in 1994 with a BS in Education, certified to teach<br />

health and physical education.<br />

Matt is currently employed at the exclusive Muscle Activation Techniques Clinic in<br />

Denver, Colorado where he works predominantly with specific injuries and overuse<br />

conditions. As a Massage Therapist, Matt is certified by the Virginia State Nursing Board,<br />

National Certification Board on Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and is a member of the<br />

American Massage Therapy Association.<br />

<strong>Joseph</strong> R. <strong>DeAntonis</strong> , <strong>RTS</strong>M<br />

Pittsburgh, PA<br />

Joe was first certified as a personal trainer in 1994. Since<br />

that time he has completed a variety of personal training<br />

certifications through organizations such as ACE, AFAA and NCCPT,<br />

as well as more advanced specialty programs qualifying him as a<br />

Mastery Level Resistance Training Specialist, Resistance<br />

Equipment Analyst, and Resist-a-Ball Master Trainer.<br />

He is the founder of Educational Training Concepts, Inc., a<br />

Pittsburgh-based company that focuses on educating health<br />

professionals in exercise mechanics and enhancing the overall well-being of the general<br />

public through personal training.<br />

Joe is the manager of the wellness center at Allegheny General Hospital where he is a<br />

biomechanics consultant to Physical Therapists and Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialists.<br />

Additionally, he has completed an intensive 10 month internship at the Muscle Activation<br />

Techniques (<strong>MAT</strong>) Clinic in Denver, Colorado. Joe is currently enrolled in the Master’s of<br />

Sports Medicine Program at the University of Pittsburgh. He plans to use his knowledge in<br />

Biomechanics and Sports Medicine to further his educational programs, teaching others how<br />

to prevent overuse injuries, joint stress and early onset osteoarthritis.


Chris Graney, <strong>RTS</strong>M <strong>MAT</strong><br />

Connecticut<br />

Chris Graney has spent the last ten years studying,<br />

applying, and teaching exercise science, with heavy<br />

concentration in Biomechanics. He was the first Mastery Level<br />

Resistance Training Specialist in New England as well as the first<br />

Muscle Activation Technique Therapist in New England.<br />

An instructor for the Resistance Training Specialist Program and<br />

for the Muscle Activation Technique Jumpstart Program, Chris<br />

teaches concepts and applications in biomechanics and muscular<br />

assessment, as well as the analysis of the tools and equipment used to impose forces into<br />

the bodies of patients, clients, and athletes.<br />

In addition, Chris is the founder of BIO-DYNAMIX, a health service and education company<br />

based in Shelton and Trumbull, CT.<br />

Glen H. Killian, <strong>RTS</strong>M<br />

Dallas, TX<br />

Glen holds the distinction of being one of the first Master<br />

Level Resistance Training Specialists in the country. He is a<br />

NSCA Certified Strength an Conditioning Specialist through the<br />

National Strength and Conditioning Association, and holds<br />

certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and<br />

the Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research. Glen has also<br />

completed the jumpstart program for Muscle Activation<br />

Techniques.<br />

Glen graduated for the University of North Texas in 1997 with a BS in Kinesiology. He<br />

began personal training in 1997 at 24 Hour Fitness in California and soon became Fitness<br />

Supervisor. He left 24 Hour Fitness as co-owner of Post Therapy Strengthening and<br />

Conditioning in Sacramento. Upon returning to Texas in 1999 he began personal training<br />

for International Club Management and presenting educational programs for the Cooper<br />

Institute of Aerobic Research.<br />

Glen is now the owner and manager of Wellness Solutions International in Dallas where he<br />

conducts one-on-one training sessions, and provides education and consulting services for<br />

area wellness companies and fitness groups.


Bill Leavitt, <strong>RTS</strong>M <strong>MAT</strong><br />

Kansas City, MO<br />

Bill is originally from Calgary, Canada and earned his<br />

degree at Concordia University in Montreal. He re-located to<br />

the USA in 1990 and has been in Kansas City/Overland Park since<br />

1996, owning Fitness Alliance, LLC, a private Personal Fitness<br />

Instruction Service that provides fitness instruction both in home,<br />

or private studio located in South Overland Park. Bill has been in<br />

the fitness industry full time for eight years and has devoted<br />

countless hours to study of the human body sciences. He has<br />

completed the Resistance Training Specialist, (<strong>RTS</strong>), programs<br />

levels 1,2,&3, which is the only personal trainer certification offering Cadaver Anatomy labs<br />

with emphasis on Biomechanics.<br />

Bill is also a Therapist of Muscle Activation Techniques, which is a bodywork method that<br />

identifies and treats muscular imbalances through biomechanical analysis for injury<br />

prevention and rehabilitation. Additional accreditations include Master Personal Fitness<br />

Trainer by the International Association of Fitness Professionals, (IDEA) and continuing<br />

education provider for The American Council on Exercise.<br />

As a specialist in the Biomechanics of Resistance Training, Bill shares his knowledge as a<br />

presenter/lecturer and continuing education provider to other trainers and fitness<br />

instructors. Other areas of specialization include senior exercise instruction, home-gym<br />

consultation/design and corporate lectures that educate the general public on the benefits<br />

of exercise and consistent eating habits to enjoy a fit and healthy lifestyle. In his spare time<br />

Bill enjoys running with his Dalmatian, Giovonni.<br />

Charlie McMillin, MS, <strong>RTS</strong>M, <strong>MAT</strong><br />

Baltimore<br />

Prior to completing his Masters in Human Performance<br />

Charlie completed a Masters in Exercise Science as well as a<br />

Bachelors in English and Religious Studies as well as a<br />

Teaching Certificate.<br />

Before becoming an instructor of both <strong>RTS</strong> Lecture and Practical<br />

Courses as well as Muscle Activation Jump Start Courses, Charlie<br />

was a Resist-A-Ball Master Trainer.<br />

As owner of McMillin Biomechanix in Brooklandville, Maryland he<br />

performs Muscle Activation Techniques as a <strong>MAT</strong> Therapist, counsels both clients and<br />

trainers on their respective goals and conducts workshops for trainers, physical therapists,<br />

chiropractors and massage therapists.<br />

He has had the honor of presenting key topics at renowned institutions including “Structure<br />

Dictates Function/Function Dictates Structure” at Johns Hopkins University and “’Isolation’:<br />

A Return to Function” at the Strength Conference 2K4 hosted by the University of MD.


Jacques Henri Taylor, <strong>RTS</strong>M <strong>MAT</strong><br />

Los Angeles, CA<br />

As co-founder of BioConstructs Jacques Henri Taylor has<br />

spent the past ten years helping people get what they want<br />

from their bodies. He has developed wellness and performance<br />

enhancement programs for individual clients as well as for<br />

corporations and public entities, such as American Express, the<br />

Santa Monica Fire Department, and Town Sports International.<br />

Jacques has developed a thriving Muscle Activation Techniques<br />

practice in Los Angeles, CA and travels the country teaching<br />

healthcare and fitness professionals about trenchant concepts in<br />

biomechanics and joint health.<br />

Jacques holds a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience from Oberlin college, has<br />

completed the Mastery level of the Resistance Training Specialist Program, and is certified<br />

as a Muscle Activation Techniques Therapist.<br />

Jacques continues to study and teach biomechanics at the most respected and informed<br />

institutions in the nation and is committed to delivering relevant, effective, and invigorating<br />

wellness/fitness services.
