Schuster in 1955. Graziano boldly signed and inscribed this on 

the front free endpaper in vintage blue ballpoint. The dust jacket 

is exceptionally bright and nice, with some stray rubbing (Ex 

Plus overall). How often do you see these come to market?

Outstanding black fountain pen cut on a 4 1/2 inch long piece of 

paper. Signature contrasts perfectly against the light blue paper, 

and is simply terrific. This quality HOF boxer from the 1910s 

and 1920s passed away in 1947, and is a very tough autograph.

Very desirable autograph of this undefeated 19th century pugilist. 

McAuliffe died in 1937 and is a HOFer. Signed boldly in

has been signed by Max Schmeling (early 1931 signature) and 

Earle Sande (a HOF jockey who died in 1968). Signatures are all

728 Rickard, Tex Signed Card w/scrapbook 7 ................120 

A name that does not get its just due in our world, Rickard was 

the key figure in promotion of boxing in the early 20th century. 

Sort of the Don King of his era, but without much of the baggage, 

he was instrumental in the two seminal Dempsey-Tunney bouts 

and much more. He was also the founder of the New York Rangers 

hockey team. It has been said of Rickard that he was the first 

to understand the role of superstars in promoting sport. Rickard 

passed away in 1929 at age 59 and is simply a rare and desirable 

autograph. Offered is a 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 card dated Feb 6 1925. 

Signed in blue fountain pen, this is a little light from exposure to 

moisture but 100% legible. This comes with some neat scrapbook 

pages about this vital boxing HOFer. JSA LOA.

734 1927 Notre Dame College Yearbook GVG ...........25 

More than 570 pages fill this 1927 yearbook from Notre Dame. 

Sharing what is most significant to many collectors is the expansive 

coverage of sports at the University, especially football which 

features Notre Dame’s legendary Coach and Director of Athletics 

(p, 270-271). The book dates from the era of Notre Dame’s football 

fame under Rockne, winning Championships in 1924, 1929 

and 1930. As a matter of fact, Notre Dame went undefeated in 

football in 1924 and went on to win that year’s Rose Bowl. Notre 

Dame artifacts are always popular from this era, this should 

prove to be no exception. Condition is g/vg with a 4 inch split on 

the outside front cover and split along the inside back cover.

Indians in 4 games during this World series which was immortalized 

by a stunning defensive play by Willie Mays in Game 1 now 

referred to as The Catch.

This gold charm accented with blue and white enamel is marked 

on the verso LGB 10K GF by its’ maker Balfour which made 

these for the Dodgers to distribute to the press covering their 

first World Series in Los Angeles. The charm acknowledges this 

distinction as it reads First Los Angeles World Series; the Dodgers 

defeated the Chicago White Sox 4 games to 2 to take their 2nd 

World Series title. This charm is meant to attach and hang from 

a small loop located on the top center.

Very tough pin from the 1961 All Star Game played at Fenway. 

Condition is an outstanding Nm-Mt overall, with bright sheen 

and no visible wear. The design is two red socks set against a 

black diamond. The back has no engravings. We have not seen 

one of these in years, and comes in the original Balfour box.

This is among the finest vintage baseball / schedule scorers that 

we have seen. This 2.5 inch diameter baseball shaped celluloid 

scorer is identified as Official Base Ball Schedule Issued By The 

Massachusetts Breweries Company, Boston Mass. The verso 

names, Alley’s East India Stock Ale, and Pfaff’s Lager. Windows 

on the front side display the Boston Americans At Home and Boston 

Nationals At Home, schedules as the entire face of the scorer 

is turned and Home Club Runs, Visitors Runs, and Outs, in turning 

three separate wheels. Artifacts such as this are extremely 

scarce, especially in such high a condition grade as this.

Photo Collection from Batboy Fair - VG .100 

This is a small collection of original photographs from the bat 

boy of the Chicago Cubs taken during the 1930’s. Ten pictures 

are smaller and range in size from 3.375 X 4.375 to 4 X 6. Two 

of these smaller photos are stamped by the famous Chicago 

photographer, George C. Burke on the verso. While a couple 

may picture the bat boy, others picture players and action shots 

taken of the field. From pencil notations made on the verso of a 

few, some may have been taken while playing in Brooklyn. Six 

other photographs are 8x10 and once again include the bat boy 

pictured in some and players in and out of uniform in others including 

two photographs of a player with his left arm in a sling. 

Among the few players that are identified by notation include 

Joe McCarthy and Hack Wilson. The overall condition is fair to 

very good with many of the larger photos exhibiting chipping 

and tears and several of the smaller ones exhibiting small thumb 

tack holes and one photo in particular a small border tear and 

crease.

Off-white and clean ONL Giles ball. There are 23 fairly bold 

period blue ink signatures. Manager Franks is the usual stamp, 

but this has solid signatures of keys McCovey, Perry, Alou, Groat 

and McCormick. Mays is clubhouse, and Franks is a stamp. For 

whatever reason, Giant team balls from this era are scarce.

Circa 1967, we see both Ed Charles and Ken Boyer so we feel it 

may well be a 67. Berra and Westrum are on the sweet spot.

The ball itself is an off-white Official Pro League model. There 

are 22 period ink signatures, a touch light but all legible. Keys

ONL Giles ball has 25 consistent period ink signatures. Keys include

Very rough ONL MacPhail ball has 25 total signatures. The 

Hodges on the sweet spot is one of the nicest signatures on the 

ball, about a 6 or 7/10. The rest of the ball shows wear. Better signatures 

include Seaver (nice), Ryan (not bad), Frisella, Agee and 

Harrelson. Affordable Met ball with a decent Hodges. JSA LOA.

Superb condition OAL Cronin ball has a few spots of toning but 

otherwise looks great. There are 26 very bold and fine period 

blue ink signatures. Keys include Brooks Robinson, Weaver, 

Palmer, Belanger, Powell, Blair, McNally and Dobson. The last of

Not your usual team ball, this was obtained by a sportswriter 

during the contest. Ball is a lightly toned Playmaker ball. There 

are 16 legible signatures and a handful of very light ones. There 

are two real Danny Murtaughs, Stargell, Oliver, Blass, Cash and 

Sanguillen. JSA LOA.

Team Ball w/early Dave Winfield 8.5 ...................75 

Tough Padres official ball has 23 very clean and consistent period 

blue ink signatures. The key to this ball is a very early Dave 

Winfield. Other better signatures include Cito Gaston and Mike 

Caldwell. Five signatures are clubhouse, including Zimmer and

1261 1974 Yankees Team Ball 8 ....................100 

Lightly toned OAL Cronin ball has an incredible 36 period ink 

signatures! 1974 SPRING TR. Is written in ink at the top of one 

panel. The Munson and Murcer are the usual clubhouse according 

to JSA. Better names include Elston Howard, Lyle, Howser, 

Nettles, Velez and Stottlemyre. JSA LOA.

Guidry and Bobby Murcer. AL Championship team from the

Quality team won 89 games. Ball is an off-white OAL Brown with 

hardly any wear. There are 29 total blue ink signatures. Keys include

1270 1984 Cardinals Team Ball 9 ......................53 

Very similar to the 1982 Championship team, the Cardinals really 

kept the same team together in this era. It is possible this 

ball is a 1983 and not a 1984. Keys include Ozzie Smith, Herzog, 

Bruce Sutter, Lonnie Smith, Van Slyke, McGee, Forsch and Schoendienst.

Championhip ball. This is a clean ONL Feeney with seven signatures.
