FIRST STRIKE
The Colts posted 24 first half
points against Kansas City in
Week 5, which tied for the team’s
highest point total for a first half
dating back to September 19,
2010 against the New York Giants.
Indianapolis scored on four
of its six possessions in the first
half. Wide receiver Pierre Garcon
logged two touchdown receptions
of six and 67 yards, Adam
Vinatieri split the uprights on a
53-yard field goal and rookie running
back Delone Carter tallied his first career NFL touchdown
on a three-yard run.

Delone Carter scored his first
career NFL touchdown in
Week 5 vs. Kansas City.
Running back Delone Carter currently ranks second in the
AFC and fifth in the league in rushing yardage among rookies
with 259. His 4.0 yards per rush average also ranks tied
for third in the NFL among first year players. Leading the
rookie class in rushing is Saints running back Mark Ingram
who has totaled 329 yards on 85 carries.
IN GOOD COMPANY
Wide receiver Reggie Wayne has been one of the team’s
most reliable receivers since his NFL debut in 2001. Over
his 11 seasons, the veteran has totaled 817 receptions for
11,174 yards and 70 touchdowns and continues to move
up in the NFL record books. With three catches against the
New Orleans Saints in Week 7, Wayne surpassed Shannon
Sharpe (815) for 21st place on the league’s all-time receptions
list. Wayne now needs three catches to overtake
Steve Largent for 20th on the list.
Through seven games this season, Indianapolis has thrown
only three interceptions, which is tied for second in the NFL
with the St. Louis Rams. With 222 pass attempts, the Colts
interception percentage of 1.4 ranks third in the league.
Prior to his fourth quarter interception against Cincinnati
(Week 6), quarterback Curtis Painter had thrown 101 consecutive
passes without an INT.

PIERRE PRODUCES
In a Week 4 contest at Tampa
Bay, wide receiver Pierre Garcon
logged a career-high 146
receiving yards on two receptions
while adding two touchdowns.
Included in his
receiving high was an 87-yard
touchdown reception from
Curtis Painter in the second
quarter, which was the longest
catch of his career. Garcon
also contributed with a 59-
yard touchdown in the third
quarter. He became the sixth
Colts player in team history with two 50-plus-yard touchdowns
in the same game, joining Lenny Moore, Raymond
Berry, Roger Carr, Marvin Harrison and Dominic Rhodes,
with Harrison, Carr and Berry being the only ones to do it
in the same contest via scoring receptions.

The following week against Kansas
City, Garcon led the team in receiving
for the second consecutive
game with five receptions for 125
yards and two touchdowns. It was
the third-highest single-game receiving
total in his career. Garcon
also posted his second-highest first
half receiving yardage total with
119 yards on four receptions. His
two touchdowns marked the fourth
time in his career he scored touchdowns
in consecutive games. Garcon’s
two scores also tied a career-high, which he has set
on two other occasions, including Week 4 at Tampa Bay.
Included in his receiving total against the Chiefs was a 67-
yard touchdown, marking the second longest catch of his
career. In two of the last four weeks alone, Garcon has
recorded three of his four longest career catches.

MOVING UP THE CHARTS
Pierre Garcon currently leads the Colts in receiving with
503 yards after seven games. His total ranks third in the
AFC behind Wes Welker of New England (785 yards) and
Mike Wallace of Pittsburgh (730). Garcon’s total ranks ninth
among all NFL receivers and he also ranks fourth in the
AFC with a 16.8 ypc. average (min. 20 receptions).
