Indianapolis scored on four<br />

half. Wide receiver Pierre Garcon<br />

logged two touchdown receptions<br />

of six and 67 yards, Adam<br />

Vinatieri split the uprights on a<br />

53-yard field goal and rookie running<br />

back Delone Carter tallied his first career NFL touchdown<br />

on a three-yard run.<br />

Delone Carter scored his first<br />

career NFL touchdown in<br />

Week 5 vs. Kansas City.<br />

Running back Delone Carter currently ranks second in the<br />

AFC and fifth in the league in rushing yardage among rookies<br />

with 259. His 4.0 yards per rush average also ranks tied<br />

for third in the NFL among first year players. Leading the<br />

rookie class in rushing is Saints running back Mark Ingram<br />

who has totaled 329 yards on 85 carries.<br />

IN GOOD COMPANY<br />

Wide receiver Reggie Wayne has been one of the team’s<br />

most reliable receivers since his NFL debut in 2001. Over<br />

his 11 seasons, the veteran has totaled 817 receptions for<br />

11,174 yards and 70 touchdowns and continues to move<br />

up in the NFL record books. With three catches against the<br />

New Orleans Saints in Week 7, Wayne surpassed Shannon<br />

Sharpe (815) for 21st place on the league’s all-time receptions<br />

list. Wayne now needs three catches to overtake<br />

Steve Largent for 20th on the list.<br />

Through seven games this season, Indianapolis has thrown<br />

only three interceptions, which is tied for second in the NFL<br />

with the St. Louis Rams. With 222 pass attempts, the Colts<br />

interception percentage of 1.4 ranks third in the league.<br />

Prior to his fourth quarter interception against Cincinnati<br />

(Week 6), quarterback Curtis Painter had thrown 101 consecutive<br />

passes without an INT.<br />

PIERRE PRODUCES<br />

In a Week 4 contest at Tampa<br />

Bay, wide receiver Pierre Garcon<br />

logged a career-high 146<br />

receiving yards on two receptions<br />

while adding two touchdowns.<br />

Included in his<br />

receiving high was an 87-yard<br />

touchdown reception from<br />

Curtis Painter in the second<br />

quarter, which was the longest<br />

catch of his career. Garcon<br />

also contributed with a 59-<br />

yard touchdown in the third<br />

quarter. He became the sixth<br />

Colts player in team history with two 50-plus-yard touchdowns<br />

in the same game, joining Lenny Moore, Raymond<br />

Berry, Roger Carr, Marvin Harrison and Dominic Rhodes,<br />

with Harrison, Carr and Berry being the only ones to do it<br />

in the same contest via scoring receptions.<br />

The following week against Kansas<br />

City, Garcon led the team in receiving<br />

for the second consecutive<br />

game with five receptions for 125<br />

yards and two touchdowns. It was<br />

the third-highest single-game receiving<br />

total in his career. Garcon<br />

also posted his second-highest first<br />

half receiving yardage total with<br />

119 yards on four receptions. His<br />

two touchdowns marked the fourth<br />

time in his career he scored touchdowns<br />

in consecutive games. Garcon’s<br />

two scores also tied a career-high, which he has set<br />

on two other occasions, including Week 4 at Tampa Bay.<br />

Included in his receiving total against the Chiefs was a 67-<br />

yard touchdown, marking the second longest catch of his<br />

career. In two of the last four weeks alone, Garcon has<br />

recorded three of his four longest career catches.<br />

MOVING UP THE CHARTS<br />

Pierre Garcon currently leads the Colts in receiving with<br />

503 yards after seven games. His total ranks third in the<br />

AFC behind Wes Welker of New England (785 yards) and<br />

Mike Wallace of Pittsburgh (730). Garcon’s total ranks ninth<br />

among all NFL receivers and he also ranks fourth in the<br />

AFC with a 16.8 ypc. average (min. 20 receptions).
