Park of giant trees: tree hugging almost impossible ;-)

Cathedral Grove oder MacMillan Provincial Park
auf Vancouver Island umfasst nunmehr 301 ha
Fläche.
Der Park ist durch seine bis zu 800 Jahre alten
Bestände an Douglasien bekannt. Die größten
Bäume können einen Umfang von neun Metern
aufweisen.
Tree hugging also fast unmöglich ;-)

Victorias Chinatown…
„…ist das älteste Chinatown in Kanada und das
zweit ältere in Nordamerika. Es wurde in der Mitte
des 19.Jahrhunderts gegründet durch den Zufluss
von Bergleuten von Kalifornien nach BC.“
Es war das schönste Chinatown das wir bestaunen
durften.
„… is the oldest Chinatown in Canada and the
second oldest in North America after San
Francisco's. Victoria's Chinatown had its
beginnings in the mid-nineteenth century in the
mass influx of miners from California to what is
now British Columbia in 1858.“
…and the most beautiful Chinatown we have seen
so far.

Einer der Hauptattraktionen von
Gabriola Island ist ein
Sandsteinformation die sich entlang der
Küste zieht…
…und durch Wellen und Frost
entstanden ist. Wenn man unter ihr
steht hat man fast den Eindruck als
wenn man unter einen eingefrorenen
Welle steht. Ein wirklich
beeindruckendes Erlebnis.
One of Gabriola´s main natural
attraction is the rock formation called
the Malaspina Galleries. The sandstone
rock along the coastline has been
eroded by surf and frost and creates the
illusion of walking underneath a frozen
waves.
