Crisis Accommodation Program<br />
Young women are assisted<br />
in identifying goals and<br />
accessing appropriate<br />
support services as they<br />
maximize opportunities to live<br />
independently or return to<br />
their family homes.<br />

CatholicCare<br />
CatholicCare is the Welfare Agency of the<br />
Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Sydney.<br />
CatholicCare aims to develop, implement and<br />
evaluate social welfare programs that are<br />
responsive to community needs.<br />
<strong>Allawah</strong> <strong>House</strong> is one of a number of alternate care<br />
and accommodation programs within the Agency’s<br />
Children and Youth Services.<br />
What we provide<br />
<strong>Allawah</strong> <strong>House</strong> provides crisis to short term<br />
accommodation for young women aged 14-17<br />
years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.<br />
The service is staffed 24 hours a day. <strong>Allawah</strong><br />
<strong>House</strong> works within a therapeutic case<br />
management framework:<br />
To provide 24 hour supported accommodation<br />
for young women aged 14 to 17 in crisis.<br />
To assess the young women’s personal<br />
and family situation and her needs.<br />
To support learning of life skills and<br />
confidence to achieve the maximum possible<br />
degree of self reliance in preparation for<br />
independent living.<br />
To work towards finding safe, secure and<br />
affordable housing.<br />
To utilise existing community resources<br />
in meeting the needs of young women.<br />
To provide support and advocacy.<br />
To provide a secure, caring, comfortable<br />
and therapeutic environment for homeless<br />
young women.<br />
In partnership with other services we can<br />
assist young women with accessing support<br />
for the following:<br />
Counselling<br />
Drug and alcohol issues<br />
Education<br />
Employment and training<br />
Income support<br />
Legal issues<br />
Medical issues<br />
Mental health services.<br />
Pregnancy Support Program<br />
We provide independent housing and case<br />
management for young women, 16–25 years<br />
who are currently expecting a child and may<br />
also have young children.<br />
This program is provided in two locations,<br />
Campbelltown and Macquarie Fields.<br />
Referral<br />
All referrals should be directed to the Intake<br />
Worker on (02) 9603 4994.<br />
Where the initial referral indicates eligibility and<br />
where vacancies exist; referrals will proceed for<br />
further assessment.
