INFORMATION GUIDE Lectureship Central Lectureship Central is located in the McInteer Rotunda (see campus map on Page 22). It will be staffed 2-9:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday to answer questions. You also may contact the Lectureship Office at 501-279-4449. Registration Please be sure to register. This serves four purposes. One, we will provide you with a convenient Lectureship name tag to wear during the week. Two, it allows us to locate you if needed. Three, registering gives you the opportunity to request to receive updates on future programs. And four, your registration will enter you into a drawing to receive a free $50 gift card from the Harding Bookstore. The winner will be announced at the 11 a.m. keynote address assembly on Tuesday. Registration begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 and continues throughout the week at Lectureship Central in the McInteer Rotunda. Lecture Locations Keynote lectures and most musical presentations will be in Benson Auditorium or Administration Auditorium. Most classes will be held in the McInteer Bible and World Missions Center, Cone Chapel, Heritage Auditorium or Liberty Room. Each location is designated in the schedule. Buildings can be found on the map on Page 22. The Women’s Day Program on Monday will be held nearby in the College Church of Christ Family Room at the corner of Race and Grand. The Preachers Workshop on Tuesday will be held in Cone Chapel. Displays and Vendors Displays, both commercial and noncommercial, may be found in the McInteer Rotunda and in the lobbies of Hammon Student Center and Benson Auditorium. Display areas open officially at 5 p.m. Sunday and close at 4 p.m. Wednesday. All guests will benefit by visiting the displays. A partial list of our exhibitors is found on page 16. Meals and Snacks Charles M. White Dining Hall is located in the David B. Burks American Heritage Building at the northwest corner of campus (see campus map on Page 22). A variety of delicious foods are available to you during these hours: Sunday Brunch: 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dinner: 4:30-6:30 p.m.; late night: 6:30-8 p.m. For Sunday lunch, you have the option to eat at “Sunday at the Heritage” in the Founders Room, which offers a full buffet. It is located on the second floor above Charles M. White Dining Hall. Hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday Breakfast: 7-10 a.m. Lunch: 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; light lunch: 1:30-4:30 p.m. Dinner: 4:30-8 p.m. Other meal selections are available on the first floor of the Student Center (see map on Page 22). Options include Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros Bagels, Burger Studio, Jump Asia, Taco Bell, and fruit and bakery goods. Operating hours are noon-10 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Snacks also are available in the Harding University POD Market, open noon-10 p.m. Sunday and 7:45 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Bookstore Harding University Bookstore, located in the Student Center, will be open to Lectureship guests Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. offering 20 percent off on Bibles, commentaries and general religious books. Public Safety (Security) The University’s Office of Public Safety is on the first floor of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building by the Market Street entrance and may be reached at 501-279-5000. Recordings Beginning this year, recordings of all Lectureship presentations will be exclusively available for download on iTunesU. This service is provided free. Visit http://www.harding.edu/ist/itunesu for more information or search the iTunesU for Harding Lectureship. Recordings will be available on iTunesU by November 2015. Celebration of Ministry Dinner A special feature again this year is the Celebration of Ministry Dinner at 4:30 p.m. Monday before the evening lecture. Guests include elders, ministers of all kinds (children’s, education, outreach, prison, pulpit, seniors, worship, youth and family, etc.), along with their spouses. Dale Jenkins is our speaker. He will be speaking on “The Heart of a Minister.” This is one way of expressing how much we appreciate your ministry. There is no charge for this dinner, but tickets must be picked up early at Lectureship Central. Helping the Helper On Tuesday of Lectureship, the Marriage and Family Therapy Program and the Harding University Counseling Center will offer their annual Helping the Helper Forum: Parables — Lessons for Those Experiencing Anxiety, Depression and Confusion. Lew Moore will moderate this forum with a panel of experts. One and a half hours of CEUs will be offered. Forums Two forums will take place each day at 1:30 p.m. in Cone Chapel and McInteer 150. The Missions Forum on “When Things Fall Apart” moderated by Shawn Daggett will be in Cone Chapel on Monday. Tuesday is the Helping the Helper Forum with Lew Moore and panel. On Wednesday, Dan Williams will interview Conley Gibbs Jr., a minister from Ferguson, Missouri. Each day in McInteer 150, Tommy Bush will lead a different panel discussion of Kingdom Business. He will interview Christian leaders from all over the world and highlight their ministries. See the daily schedule for more information. Distinguished Christian Service Awards Each night during lectureship, Harding University is pleased to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the cause of Christ. This year’s recipients of the Distinguished Christian Service Awards are: Sunday — Edward and Sharon Short and Enoch and Jeannine Thweatt (longtime missionaries to the Chinese); Monday — Randy Steger (founder of Healing Hands International); Tuesday — James O. Maxwell (gospel preacher, vice president of Southwestern Christian College); and Wednesday — Kay Gowen (director of Abundant Living Ministry) Lost and Found Check at Lectureship Central for lost and found items. Student Chapels Regular 9-9:35 a.m. and 10-10:35 a.m. student chapels will meet Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Benson Auditorium with special guest speakers. You are welcome to attend. Students sit in assigned seats, so Lectureship guests will need to sit at the break, on the back six rows, or in the balcony. A Picture of Health Tuesday and Wednesday mornings during Lectureship the Carr College of Nursing and HealthCorp Inc. are offering wellness screenings. Labs offered include cholesterol panels, complete blood counts, comprehensive metabolic panels, thyroid levels, diabetes screening (blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c levels), PSA levels (prostate screening), arthritis panels, etc. See the flyers available at Lectureship Central for a complete list of offerings, prices, location and time, and preparation needed. Harding History House Harding History House is open from noon-6 p.m. on Monday and noon-4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition to general history and memorabilia, this year the house features an exhibit celebrating the life of Wyatt Sawyer who served in various ministry efforts for more than 67 years.
