services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial<br />

will be at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch. Mrs. Jones<br />

died Thursday at Delta Memorial Hospital in Antioch. She<br />

was 71.<br />

Ruth was a native of Lincoln. Arkansas. She had been an<br />

East County resident since 1950. She was a ho1ncrnaker.<br />

Mrs. Jones belonged to the Church of God in Oakley and<br />

was a member of senior citizens dubs in Oakley and<br />

Antioch.<br />

Her husband Charles Samuel Jones who died in August 1979<br />

preceded her in death. She is survived by t\.vo sons. Donald<br />

Jones of Brentwood and Waymond Jones of West<br />

Pittsburgh; her daughter, Carol Sautter of Antioch; her<br />

brother, Ambrose <strong>Snodgrass</strong> of Lincoln, Ark.; four sisters.<br />

Geneva McCratic, Jeanette Green and Clara Bea Risley, all<br />

of Arkansas, and Dorothy Flanary of Oakley; five<br />

grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.<br />

Jones.<br />

Funeral services for retired steelworker Sam Jones, 80, of<br />

Oakley, California were held August 15 in Antioch,<br />

California. Sam Jones died August 13, 1979 at Delta<br />

Memorial Hospital. He was born in Washington County,<br />

Arkansas. He was a farmer for several years. The son of the<br />

late T. A. Jones and Mary Barber Jones of Summers, he<br />

married and then moved to Brentwood, Calif. but returned to<br />

Arkansas in 1945.<br />

Jones again settled in California in 1947 and worked at U.S.<br />

Steel in Pittsburgh from 1950 until he retired in 1973. He<br />

was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local<br />

1440.<br />

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jones of Oakley, Calif.; two<br />

sons, Donald Wayne Jones of Brentwood, California and<br />

Waymond Alvin Jones of Oakley; one daughter, Carol Faye<br />

Sautter of Antioch, California; five brothers. John Jones and<br />

Kenny Jones, both of Summers, Ark.; Ted Jones of<br />

Westville; Forrest Jones of Orland, Calif. and James (Jim)<br />

Jones of Valencia, California; and six sisters, Alice<br />

Campbell of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Anna Chadwell of<br />

Oklahoma City. Okla. Ruth Freedle Of Fosse!, Oregon and<br />

Bertha Randolph of St. Helens, Oregon. Burial was in the<br />

Oak View Cemetery at Antioch.<br />

Earl Alexander Collins, 90, died Monday. November 26 at<br />

Abilene, Texas. He was born June 30, 1900 at Lincoln, the<br />

son of James F. and Anna <strong>Snodgrass</strong> Collins. lie came to<br />

Abilene in 1925. On Dec. 29, 1930 he married Lois Gier<br />

Collins. He farmed west of Abilene until 1940 and from<br />

1940 to 1965 he was a pipeline inspector for the National<br />

Cooperative Refinery Association. He was a member of the<br />

First Presbyterian Church and AARP. Seven brothers and<br />

one sister preceded him in death.<br />

lie is survived by his wife Lois of the home, two daughters;<br />

Maxine Conner, Camarillo, California and Nell Gene Keller,<br />

Garland, Texas, two sons; Kenneth Collins, Garland, Texas<br />

and Jerry Collins of Leavenworth, Kansas, mne<br />

grandchildren and one great grandchild, One brother, Paul,<br />

Santa Paula, California and four sisters, Ira Parks, Abilene:<br />

Lizzie Angel, Battle Creek, Michigan: Louise Crammer,<br />

Taft. California; and Corene Trostle, Denison, Texas.<br />

Document 10.47. Obituary for (Lewis Lafayette) Fayette<br />

L. Collins.<br />

(Lewis Layette) Fayette L. Collins. 72, died December 3,<br />

1976 at the Memorial Hospital following an extended<br />

illness. He was born April 7, 1904, in Lincoln, Arkansas the<br />

son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Collins. On July 16, 1937, he<br />

married Melba Masters in Lincoln and they came to Abilene,<br />

Kansas in 1942 to make their home.<br />

Before he retired Rollie Clemence employed him as a<br />

farmer. He was a member of th~ First United Presbyterian<br />

Church of Abilene. Surviving are his wife. Melba, of the<br />

home: a son, Ronald Collins of Wichita; five sisters, Mrs.<br />

Iva Parks. Abilene; Mrs. Corinne Trostle, Tecumseh,<br />

Oklahoma, Mrs. Ed Cranmer of Taft, Calif.. Mrs. Ira Angel<br />

and Mrs. George Stanley, both of Battle Creek, Michigan;<br />

and Paul Collins. Santa Paula, California; two grandchildren<br />

and other relatives.<br />

Services were held in the First United Presbyterian Church<br />

with the Rev, William Webster and the Rev. Gordon Rhodes<br />

ofliciating with burial in the Abilene Cemetery.<br />

Document 10.48. Obituary for Viola Goldie Pridemore<br />

<strong>Snodgrass</strong>.<br />

Viola G. <strong>Snodgrass</strong>. 80, of Lincoln. died Feb. 22, 1983<br />

at her home. She was born Nov_. 22, 1902, in Lincoln, the<br />

daughter of George and Virginia A. Jones Pridemore. She<br />

was a member of the Lincoln First Baptist \:hurch. Survivors<br />

include five sons, Roy <strong>Snodgrass</strong>, L.E. <strong>Snodgrass</strong>, Bob<br />

<strong>Snodgrass</strong> and John <strong>Snodgrass</strong> all of Lincoln, and Lonnie<br />

<strong>Snodgrass</strong> of Atwood. Kansas; 12 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren.<br />

Services were conducted Saturday at the<br />

Lincoln First Baptist Church with burial in the Lincoln<br />

Cemetery.<br />

James Ernest Leach, 76. of Lincoln, died May 29, 1986 at a<br />

Fayetteville Hospital. He was born May 15. 1910, in<br />

Morrow, Arkansas the son of Earl and Belle Reed Leach. He<br />
