Autumn 2015 Edition
There is a great deal to do locally
this autumn. Celebrate country life
and the harvest at the Autumn Show
and Game Fair on the 3rd and 4th
October, held at the South of England
Show Ground.
Chequer Mead Theatre has
an amazing programme of
entertainment. There is something to suit all tastes, but you will need
to book early as many shows sell out very quickly. This year’s panto is
Snow White and promises to be a fabulous family treat, so get your
tickets before they disappear in a puff of smoke!
Take a look outside and you will see that the trees are taking on those
golden hues. To admire this why not book seats on the Autumn Tints
trains being run by the Bluebell Railway. You could also combine
your journey with a visit to Sheffield Park which is famous for its
autumn displays.
Standen is holding a series of lectures to commemorate the centenary
of the death of architect Philip Webb. You can also visit the house and
gardens at any time during opening hours.
The mid-week collectors fairs are held on 21st October and 18th
November at Chequer Mead and the keep it Local Craft Fair will
return to the Llama Park on 15th November.

This fun-filled weekend for garden
enthusiasts, families and those with a zest
for nature’s bounty is a must as Wakehurst
celebrates the turn of the season.
Experts from Wakehurst will be
on hand to give gardening tips
and growing advice through
a series of talks, hands-on
workshops, demonstrations,
tours and family activities. There
will also be seasonal displays
from local horticulture and
growing societies, offering
advice and skilled artisans
displaying fencing, gate, stone
engraving and iron work, as well
as plants and food for sale.

including tree climbing,

Hill Garden is set to return this half term.

1st November fearless explorers
can complete the treacherous

holidays from 10am – 5pm.
