The idea:
To build a
golf putter
around
a golf ball

It always starts with an idea. The idea this
time came out of some questions; why are
no golf putters designed on the basis of
a golf ball? Why are there no golf putters
with a circular sweet spot?
We did research and found some attempts
from a few inventors and entrepreneurs.
We also found out that none of the
worlds big brands are into the idea. How
come?
We also found out that the rules are
very strict at R&A and USGA. You can´t
produce a round golf putter. It has to have
a lying shape and certain proportions. So
the task was trickier than we could imagine
from start.
Next question was; Are there any benefits,
any advantages? Of course it is impossible
to answer that question if you can’t try the
club, so we decided to go ahead and make
the drawings and produce some prototypes.
When we played with the final prototype
we were surprised. The touch and
ball strike is distinct and solid but the biggest
surprise is the feeling and the sound.
When you hit in the middle of the sweet
spot you get a distinct response and also
hear a sound similar to a tone. The design
is amazing and different. We like the look
of the club, but finally and most important,
it is great to play with Gorey Claw.

Gorey Claw, as we know, is the first golf
putter with a circular sweet spot.
For decades putter design has been
similar and conform. The putter face has
to have certain proportions, so it is not
an easy task to make changes and create
something new, still staying to the golf
rules and regulations.
We got this idea with a round hitting
area and worked hard to develop and
improve it. Instead of starting with traditional
putter design we wanted to create

the club from the shape and size of the
golf ball.
Finally we came up with Gorey
Claw, a golf putter built with a completely
new design. The circular sweet spot on
the front of the club has the same size as
a golf ball. We have positioned the center
of the sweet spot a bit low on the clubface.
This is to give you enough height for your
swing and still hit the ball in the middle.

and precise
feeling
Our objective was to combine the feeling
you get from a blade shaped club with the
massive impact you get from a mallet. We
took this one step further when making
the hitting area thinner and circular. This
gives the club a more precise feeling when
you hit the ball. It is also easier to aim
when you want the ball to fit to the circular
part on the club face.

Built with proven
and traditional technique
The basic technique we used when designing
Gorey Claw, is proven and used by all
major golf putter producers in the world;
classic toe heel weight balance. The basic
shape is proven as well, a classic sideways
split mallet with part of the weight positioned
in the back. It has a slightly rounded
bottom so you can adjust for your personal
lie and follow through in a smooth
way. Gorey Claw will be casted in stainless
steel. The club face has a 2,8 degree loft
and the shaft has a 71 degree lie. We made
the hitting area in metal with gradients for
a stroke as clean and solid as possible when
the balls plastic surface meets the metal.

Designed in Sweden and Florida
When we solved the technique we also
wanted to give Gorey Claw a bold and
new look. One of our objectives was to
combine the circular sweet spot part in
the center of the front with a completely

new design. We wanted it to have a different
look and shape. We worked a lot with
the design until we finally came up with a
sloping back and a rounded cavity.
One day one of the team members
compared the shape of the putter with a
claw. We then knew we had the name of
the model. It was perfect. Friends of ours
also associated the shape of the club with
Batman and his devices. They also thought
the club has the coolest looking way to
pick up the ball.
We have worked with the design
both in Stockholm, Sweden and Jupiter,
Florida. So we got the combination of
quality, modern design and tech influences.
We have also listened to players,
pros and craftsmen. We thank them all for
their input which helped us to improve the
club.

Next step - production
We made a lot of drawings until we found
out the right shape, size and weight. We
had it checked with R&A in Scotland. It
took some revisions before we could go
ahead with the next step.
To get a feeling of the shape we
made a couple of prototypes with plastic
printing. We made some changes to improve
the design further and made a metal
prototype that was casted in aluminum.
Next step is to get into production.
For the right stability and weight we are
going to make the final club in stainless
steel.

Specifications
Gorey Claw will be casted in stainless steel.
The club face will have 2,8 degree loft and the
shaft has a 71 degree lie. The length is
35 inches. The grip is in medium thickness.
The aiming dots on the top of the club will be
in white color. Other decor and inscription
will be black. Initially we will only make right
handed clubs. We will start to produce for left
handed players as soon as we can.
