He stayed in Britain, continuing his<br />

radio and music-hall career, and made<br />

four films, including Limelight (1936),<br />

with Anna Neagle as his leading lady,<br />

The Street Singer (1937), with Margaret<br />

Lockwood, and Command Performance<br />

(1937) with Lilli Palmer all of which<br />

were very successful.<br />

This film contains many of the songs<br />

that made Arthur Tracy famous and<br />

gain his name as “The Street Singer”,<br />

including “Marta and Rambling Rose<br />

of the Wildwood”.<br />
