Today, the Liberty square is undergo<strong>in</strong>g<br />

a major change. Due to the<br />

new pavement project, all trees<br />

have been cut down, although the<br />

<strong>in</strong>itial project <strong>in</strong>cluded all exist<strong>in</strong>g<br />

trees.<br />

In a city where summers are hot <strong>and</strong><br />

temperatures can reach up to 40<br />

degrees, a green oasis is<br />

always welcomed. However, cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g<br />

cutt<strong>in</strong>g down trees <strong>in</strong> public<br />

areas <strong>and</strong> busy car traffic are<br />

<strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g air pollution <strong>and</strong> lead to<br />

different heat isl<strong>and</strong>s with<strong>in</strong> the city.<br />
