I’m very pleased to feature Eyvind Earle (1916-2000) on our cover. He created 

more than 800 Christmas designs for holiday cards, beginning in the 1930s. In the 

1950s he worked for Walt Disney on many shorts and feature films, including Peter 

Pan and Lady and the Tramp. His masterpiece was Walt Disney’s Sleeping 

Beauty. He set the tone for the entire film. Later on Earle specialized in amazing 

paintings of trees, coastlines, mountains and valleys, particularly in Monterey, Carmel 

and Big Sur area of California. His family has been producing beautiful limited
