ACADEMIC<br />

WORKS<br />

I graduated from Faculty of <strong>Architecture</strong>, Manipal University, India as an architect<br />

in 2015. Indian by birth, and global by nature, I spent my formative years in Dubai.<br />

The beginning of my passion toward architecture started thus. I am particularly<br />

interested in how aesthtic forms can be blended well with a functional structure.<br />

With a great passion for design, and insatiable curiosity to learn more, I look forward<br />

to being a good team member as well as a leader in creating sustainable, sensitive<br />

and responsive designs.<br />

I hold a UAE residence visa, sponsored by my father, and am looking for career<br />

opportunities wherein I can give the best of my creative skills in design while at the<br />

same time gain valuable experience and knowledge.

HOSPITAL<br />

The project brief was to design a 100 bedded general<br />

hospital in a small Indian town called Brahmavar.<br />

Acknowledging emotional well-being of patients as<br />

catalysts to positive therapeutic outcomes, the hospital<br />

was designed keeping in mind that healing enviroments<br />

are good medicines. The concept resulted in well-lit,<br />

spacious spaces with good accessibilty to greenery.<br />

The users enter into a “green plaza” with a lattice<br />

shade, creating interesting light and shade effects as<br />

the day passes, as well as providing a weather-proof<br />

area for uniting, and more importantly doing away<br />

with the claustrophic atmosphere of hospitals.<br />

The users are then led into their specific areas of<br />

need from this space.<br />

When family, societal values and community are the crux of a residential<br />

development, how do you relocate them into a high rise structure keeping<br />

them happy?, It was thus important to design a haven that will sustain the<br />

very feeling that the residents built their life around. This remaininng the major<br />

goal of the project, a design approach was adopted that not only catered<br />

to the sustainable needs of the environment for users of all age groups. The<br />

creation of “vertical gardens” thus became a priority.<br />

To sustain this society further, neighborhood shops were provided within the<br />

same structure, thereby boosting the economy and reinforcing the concept of<br />

“social sustainability”<br />

The biggest challenge in the project was creating<br />

livable spaces that were not very different<br />

from the users’ current living situations. Providing<br />

for existing tenements, while bringing in new<br />

users ensuring affordability and social inclusion<br />

and relocating them into a high-rise tower, it was<br />

important to heed their one demand- social interaction.<br />

This goal needed to be achieved without<br />

compromising on the fsi, build up or saleable area.<br />

Inclusion of voids or cut-outs for recreational spaces<br />

were the best solution. These double-heighted spaces<br />

dedicated for varying age-groups are open from<br />

three sides with protective railings and free from fsi.<br />

•Commercial intentionally separated from residential<br />

area to ensure privacy.<br />

•the promotion of neighborhood shops in commercial<br />

complex would help boost economy of the locality.<br />

•but, since the cost of saleable area would be too<br />

high for such establishments, the concept of street<br />

shopping inspired by mumbai’s infamous street<br />

shopping itself was conceived.<br />

This project was executed in St. Gerosa<br />

High School, Mangalore, India in a limited<br />

budget with crowd-funding. Hence,<br />

here were limitations to the design ideas<br />

that could be executed.<br />

in extensively in every step of the project,<br />

including costing and estimation,<br />

design, site supervision, project management<br />

the urban experience of one of the busiest roads in Mangalore.<br />

Starting from a detailed analysis of the road and its uses, to the<br />

minutest details, I was involved single-handedly in draughting<br />

and detailing the entire project till I my internship ended there.

The project concentrated on enhancing the experience of the all types of users of the road. For pedestrians, the walkways<br />

were enhanced, traffic signals were added, promenades were created with regularly placed trees and crossings<br />

were added. Street-lights have been places at regular intervals. For vehicle users, most importantly, clearly demarcated<br />

roads have been designed. The two way lanes are separated by dividers, that have been end at the entrance/exit<br />

of instituations. Drainage is another rectification done through this redesign.<br />

Public amneties are the high-point of the design with bus bays being provided for the first time, bus-stops being enhanced<br />

for user-comfort and aesthetics, rickshaw-stands being designed, public toilets and vendor stalls being added.<br />

This was a voluntary project and was represented to several heads of the city. environmentalists, social activists etc<br />

who unanminously nodded a yes toward this initiative that will further mark a huge change as a precursor in the urban<br />

design standards adopted by the city.<br />

creating the most unique hotel in town.<br />

Located at the Sh. Zayed-Business Bay Area, the building had to be unique and<br />

aesthetic in its form as well as function.<br />

On a relaxed day, you would probably find me reading books or writing. Art<br />

found me late, but ever since it did, it has been a constant love! Looking<br />

back I have always had a heightened interest in sketching. At this point, art<br />

and architecture are two interests that take up most of my time, and happily<br />
