Matthews House Hospice:
Matthews House Hospice offers caring, compassionate support to individuals,
care-givers, and loved ones facing a life-limiting illness or grieving a loss.

Matthews House Hospice is about life, about helping our clients live fully, every
day, in spite of the incredible challenges they face living with a life-limiting
diagnosis.
We believe that knowledge and understanding from all possible sources, including
the experiences of others, can lighten the load carried by client and caregivers.
Matthews House staff and volunteers believe that meaningful, timely intervention
integrated with medical and other community based supports can improve the
quality of life for clients and caregivers. For this reason, the Matthews House
program is broad and responsive to the individual interests and passions of our
clients. With improved treatments, there are more positive outcomes, but the
journey is no less traumatic.
We believe that our support will be most effective when first contact comes as
soon after diagnosis as possible. Sustaining and nurturing the caregiver is a part of
everything we do. Our support also includes the bereaved, helping them cope
during their own recovery period.
Good Shepard Food Bank:
Mission is to provide nutritional food assistance to individuals and families
encountering difficult financial times. We care and respect the dignity of our
clients.
We are a 100% volunteer organization run by over 85 members of our
community. Volunteers sort food, clean the premises, transport food and
interview and serve clients. Open to clients Mondays 1 to 3 PM and Thursdays 2
to 4 PM and the second Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. We are
able to serve approximately 265 families.
We are fully dependent on food and financial donations for day to day
operations. The very generous support from local churches, schools, clubs,
businesses and individuals has allowed us to continue to meet the increasing
need in our community.

The Good Shepherd is a member of both the Canadian Association of Food Banks
and the Ontario Association of Food Banks. We are a registered charitable
organization overseen by an elected board of directors and incorporated since
2003.
