Event Detectors Event Detectors are used for reliability testing of solder joints, electrical connectors, and electrical interconnects based on continuous, electrical resistance monitoring during accelerated aging or stress testing. New interconnect developments, such as lead-free-solder technology, require reliability qualification testing to avoid premature in-field-product-failures. Event Detectors perform continuous electrical monitoring for short-duration resistance variations on large numbers of channels. Event Detectors do not use channel scanning but instead perform continuous monitoring in compliance with IPC SM 785, IPC-9701, and JESD 22-B111 test standards. This type of testing is vital to interconnect-reliability testing in the telecommunications, computer, automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. Semiconductor Thermal Analyzers Semiconductor Thermal Analyzers perform thermal measurements on packaged semiconductor devices using the electrical method of junction temperature measurement. These thermal tests include steady-state thermal resistance, transient thermal impedance, and die attach quality screening. Component test services are available for semiconductor thermal characterization of customer devices at our factory test-laboratory. We also offer a complete line of accessories for semiconductor component thermal characterization on all types of devices from ICs to discrete power components. All products offered conform to applicable JEDEC and MIL Standards. TIM Tester Sample Positioning: Convenient and Precise Sample testing with the Analysis Tech TIM Testers involves the straightforward alignment of the circular sample within the concentric boundary line. But for the highest possible accuracy and
epeatability, the Sample Positioning Fixture can be quite useful, particularly with type III samples (incompressible samples), The positioning fixture eliminates sample-position variation by providing a firm "corner" into which the test sample disks can be located with ease, consistently, each and every test. Positioning without alignment fixture (type I and II samples) : The positioning fixture also eliminates the problem of type III samples migrating with the initial application of the pressure when oil or grease is used to reduce the surface-contact-resistance. The TIM Positioning Fixture is included with the TIM Accessory Pack. TIM Tester Calibration Package: Calibration Instruments & Reference Sample Set TIM Tester instrument calibrations can be conveniently performed "in-lab" without ever moving the unit. The TIM Calibrator and TC Calibrator accessories are provided for this purpose. The entire bi-annual calibration of the TIM Tester is a user-friendly, 10 minute procedure handled by WinTIM Software. During calibration, the TIM Calibrator is connected to the rear panel of the TIM Tester and provides calibration signals which can be measured with a calibrated lab-voltmeter (not included). The TC Calibrator provides automatic calibration of the TIM thermocouple ports in conjunction with WinTIM calroutines and a USB communication link. WinTIM also provides complete help files and on-screen instructions for all aspects of instrument calibration.The Tc Calibrator and TIM Calibrator should be sent for yearly calibration and re-certification to Analysis Tech.
