Welcome! Aquus presents a new paradigm in adventure travel. I trust this
guide will provide you with some additional insight into how we are different
water experiences that Aquus and our team of professionals will do so over
the coming years.
We have various lengths of tours available in some of the most amazing
underwater locations around the globe. Each tour will consist of only 18
decision, so as to secure your place on this once in a life time trip.
Unlike many travel companies each member of our team is also a customer
advisor. Our service team is ready to answer any questions you might have in
order to meet your needs.
On behalf of the entire team at Aquus – welcome aboard.
AQUUS
About The Team
Will Ashcroft
The ocean has fascinated Founder Will Ashcroft since he was a young boy. In fact
at the age of eleven he won a public speaking competition discussing sharks and dolphins. Will is a
Commercially rated helicopter pilot with more than 3,000 hours flight time. At one time in his
career he owned the only helicopter in all 650 islands of the Bahamas. Will has been involved in
sports, aviation and technology ventures. He is best known for pioneering the affordable private
jet space with Jumpjet. He has been featured on Bloomberg and in the New York Times, Conde
Nast, Time Magazine, CNN Travel to name a few. AQUUS has been on Will’s drawing since 2004.
“AQUUS first started for me as a submarine cruise ship. A way for families to enjoy the wonders of
the sea. The along came Graham Hawkes and I just knew one day this guy would build a practical
machine for people to enjoy the wonder that is the ocean in the most amazing way possible-It’s
here-The Deepflight Dragon”. Ashcroft has assembled a team of professionals to help guide
AQUUS on its own adventure. “The team we have brought together really cares about providing a
once in a life time experience. I don’t think anyone is really here because of the pay. It is really
about being a part of something very unique and special”.
Peter Jansson
Every successful business has to have a details man and Peter brings a 35 year
business career to AQUUS. Originally from the home of the Great Barrier Reef Peter set our into
the music business and holds both a degree and law degree in music. With tours at EMI, Disney,
Time Warner and Alibaba he has worked with complex licensing issues, world renowned music
performers and business all over the globe. “Being from Sydney I grew up with the water. Both my
sons still live in Australia and spend about as much time in the water as they don on dry land.
AQUUS is just an incredible vision and for me to be a part of something that few will ever get to do
is just amazing”.
Mike Smith
Brings 20 years of underwater activity to AQUUS. He started out as a scuba diver
in high school which then translated going to commercial dive school. After a few years diving on
North Sea oil rigs he then joined the US Navy and spent three years as a Nay Diver before becoming
a Navy SEAL. “I’ve dived all over the world and even spent sometime in submarines but the Navy
subs are very different than the Deepflight Dragon. These machines are so well designed and to be
able to drive/fly one will be an experience second to none”.
Brett Ross
Every operation that works with customers needs a top shelf manager who can
enable the customer to enjoy a seamless experience. Brett brings a lot more experience than just
customer care to AQUUS. He’s worked in Formula One, Indy Car and Private Aviation. “When Will
called me and told me about AQUUS I was in a little bit of shock. I knew Will does not think small
but submarine tours was something a native from Chicago never thinks about. I’m very excited to
welcome our guests itno the program and very much look forward to working with our customers
to making sure they have a wonderful experience and the time of their life”.
AQUUS
The Adventure
If you enjoy diving, snorkeling or have ever wondered what it would be like to
go under the waves in a completely secure surrounding and explore on your
own in as about as safe environment as there is, then look no further.
AQUUS Submarine Tours are not about sitting in a sweaty tourist submarine
surrounded by strangers. With the Dragon submarine we use you actually get
to drive the submarine -if you wish. The submarines are easy to drive after a
short lesson. The Dragon provides an easy to fly platform that puts you at
the controls. As each day passes so does your confidence level and with that
the depth and excitement of the tours. We even will do a night dive. Ever
eaten a ham sandwich while watching a Humpback whale ten feet from you
under water? With Aquus - you can.
It is like flying through the water.
4

AQUUS
What is unique about Aquus is that we move our submarines to various
destinations. This enables our customers to pick and choose the location that is
of most interest to them. For those that want to go everywhere we do there is
the Aquus Explorers Club which earns you benefits with every tour you take.
Our tours come in 3, 5, and 7 days. Each tour starts with a lesson course and
overview of the submarine and its safety features. Each person who wishes to
drive gets a turn at driving the submarine and everyone including non-drivers
goes under water with our guides. Each tour includes two dives a day plus one
night dive. The dives average 2-3 hours in length.
The lead submarine has a guide and the last submarine has a guide. You the
guest are in the middle and free to explore. We just give you some helpful
guidance now and then. And did we mention that flying a submarine under
water is one of the coolest things you will ever experience.
You will be able to drift alongside animals like this
beautiful whale shark.
AQUUS
Safety is most important with everything we do. Our Founder has over
3,000 hours of commercial helicopter flight time without an accident or
incident. He brings this safe attitude under the sea with Aquus. “One of
the reasons we chose the Dragon by Deepflight was that Graham Hawkes
built in very intelligent safety features that other comparable submarines
did not have”-Will Ashcroft-Founder/Aquus.
The submarines are easy and fun to drive and have built in features such
as terrain avoidance, auto depth and other items that enable you to enjoy
your view and not have to be a master class diver to go and explore. “I
used to tell my employees when flying VIP guests-If they only talk about
the view then you did your job” The Deepflight Dragon allows its
passengers to enjoy the ride, have some fun and come back with great
memories of the view.
7

AQUUS
Deepflight submarines are built by the world’s best. The wonderful thing about
Aquus tours is that you get to sit upfront and drive. Whether it is just for you, the
family or a corporate retreat, our commitment at Aquus is to enable you to do
something few will ever do, in a magical place.
AQUUS
FAQS
What is the significance of underwater flight?
Underwater flight gives you the range and speed you need to truly explore the underwater
wilderness in three dimensions, while keeping pace with whales, dolphins, and the other
creatures of the sea. From an experiential point of view, DeepFlight Super Falcon can safely and
easily do rolls, flips, and banks just like a jet, but underwater. Why sink when you can fly?
How fast do DeepFlight submarines fly underwater?
The two-passenger Super Falcon flies at a rate of 6 knots, fast enough to cruise with sharks or a
pod of dolphins. The Dragon tops out at just over 4 knots, but offers the ability to hover
stationary. At the high end, both are capable of satisfying needs of adrenaline junkies.
What is the depth range for a DeepFlight submarine?
We rate the depth limit to the “edge of darkness”, or 120m, where all natural light disappears.
How comfortable are DeepFlight submarines?
A conventional submarine’s geometry can be somewhat confining, and carries with it the
potential for pressure points around your feet and head. DeepFlight submarines, on the other
hand, are specifically designed to fit the human figure.
Are DeepFlight submarines safe?
Unlike conventional submarines, DeepFlight submarines have fixed positive buoyancy. Under
virtually any circumstance, if power is interrupted or turned off, our submarines will float back to
the surface. DeepFlight composite pressure hulls are composed of 21st century materials that
are incorporated in everything from NASA space ships to the most sophisticated commercial
airliners.
How much oxygen is supplied in a DeepFlight submarine?
DeepFlight submarines store supplies of oxygen and are equipped with CO2 filtration systems
that enable up to 24 hours of life support. Such large capacity is added as a precautionary
measure – we never anticipate needing it since each craft is inherently designed to float.
Can I get myself out in an emergency?
Yes. Each submarine is equipped with inflatable surface flotation bags, which essentially turn the
submarine into a life raft.
Can I fly a DeepFlight submarine myself, or will I need a professional pilot to fly it for me?
You can and should fly one yourself. You wouldn’t give the keys to your Ferrari to your chauffeur?
DeepFlight submarines provide an extraordinarily forgiving and accessible experience for users
of all ages. Anytime you feel out of control, simply take your hands off the controls and the craft
will naturally return to the surface.
Destinations
From the great Belize and Australian barrier reefs to the mighty ships of Truk
Lagoon our destinations are hand picked by those who have experienced these
sites as divers. Aquus submarine tours are not about going to the Titanic. We are
not taking you to the depths where it is black. We taking you down deep enough
to be a part of this incredible underwater landscape. Because the Dragon is quiet
the animals go about their daily lives and allow you to be a part of their world.
Every six months the submarines will relocate to yet another beautiful
destination. We specifically select destinations that provide both stunning under
water views as well as luxury accommodations on dry land.
11

AQUUS
Once you have decided you wish to reserve a tour we will send you a contract.
A 50% deposit is required with 25% non refundable. Once you are signed up
you will receive access to the Aquus App that will not only keep you informed
of events but provide a count down to your adventure.
We can provide you with luxury hotels in the area of the dives as well as airline
and private air transportation. Every submarine has a GOPRO camera system on
it, enabling you to record your trips.
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever
-Jacques Cousteau
Whales or planes-it is unforgettable
