Why the One Eight Project
We believe Jesus is calling His Church to take His
Good News to the world through his command in
Acts 1:8
“JESUS SAID, ‘YOU WILL RECEIVE
POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT
COMES TO YOU; AND YOU WILL BE
MY WITNESS IN JERUSALEM AND
IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND
TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.’”
- Acts 1:8 (NIV)
We believe this will help us fulfill the vision God has
given us to be a Global Church that takes the Gospel
to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Ends of
the Earth!
The calling from Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 is to go
and make disciples. Then, in Acts 1:8, we receive the
strategy and direction of where to go. We believe
this is the calling and vision God has for our church,
so we must go and believe that God will fulfill His
promise given in Acts 1:8.

An Overview of The One Eight
Project
1. Future Facilities (Our Jerusalem)
The mission of Vertical Church is to connect people
to God and others to live sent. Our future facilities
will enable us to reach more people in our area.
2. Metro Vertical Plants (Our Judea)
We will plant additional churches in the greater
Jackson Metro area to extend our borders for
making disciples.
3. MS Church Plants (Our Samaria)
It is our goal to start additional Vertical Church
campuses across the state and support other church
plants not that are not affiliated with Vertical.
4. Global Missions (Ends of the Earth)
Global Missions are the efforts we make for taking
the Gospel outside of the state of Misssissippi.

Our Jerusalem
Our mission is to connect people to God and
others to live sent. That is the driving force behind
everything we do. That’s how we’re able to make a
difference. The percentage of giving alloted to our
future facilities will do just that.

5 | OUR JUDEA
Our Judea
The strategy of Vertical Church is to plant additional
churches in the greater Jackson Metro area. This will
help us extend our borders of making disciples. We
plan to start more churches under the umbrella of
Vertical Church leadership. (Locations for illustrative
purposes).

Through the One Eight Project, we will start
additional Vertical Campuses and support additional
church plants not directly affiliated with Vertical in
the state of MS (Locations for illustrative purposes).

Ends of the Earth
For our Global Missions we will partner with
organizations in Bangladesh, Toronto, Haiti, Dubai,
and India. This portion of the One Eight Project
will support missionaries, people from Vertical, and
projects on the ground.

2016 Global Partners
BANGLADESH: In Bangladesh we are training pastors
who to support the church planting movement that
has been established by our partner who operates
an orphanage, a safe house for children who live on
the street, and works to rescue local women from
trafficking.
TORONTO: We are working with a church planter in
Toronto who has a vision to plant 10 churches in the
various immigrant communities within the city over the
next 10 years. We are engaged in community service
projects, camps for students, and in the preparation
of meals to share during a bible study at a home for
refugees.
HAITI: In Haiti we are working with an indigenous
church planter who is leading a discipleship movement.
We are involved with the construction of buildings for
these churches to use and we are spending time with
the people from the various communities.
DUBAI: In Dubai we are working with a partner to
reach immigrants from Southeast Asia and the Middle
East who are working in harsh conditions in labors
camps throughout the United Arab Emirates. The
organization has seen an overwhelming response of
people responding in faith, growing through leader
development, and returning to their home countries to
plant churches.

Financial Overview
Our financial goal with the One Eight project for the
year of 2016 is to raise $100,000.
GOAL = RAISE $100,000
We know that it will be a challenge to meet financial
goals outlined above, but if we each step out in faith
and give sacrificially these goals are attainable.

• Metro Plants 20%
• MS Plants 20%
• Global Missions 20%
Beyond the One Eight project, we give 10% of the
general Vertical Church budget to missions efforts.

MY PART | 10
What Can I Do?
This project is going to require everyone to go above
and beyond what they might already be giving to the
church’s general budget offering. We understand that
everyone can’t give a large amount. However, we do
believe everyone can do something. Our challenge to
each of you is to pray and seek God’s direction on what
you will commit to give starting in January 2016 and
ending in December 2016.
This commitment will allow us to touch lives over the
next year and to witness God do amazing things through
the sacrifice of His people. We are asking everyone
to have their commitment card turned in by Sunday,
December 13th, 2015. Please join us on this great
journey!
EXAMPLES OF HOW WE CAN
REACH OUR GOAL
EXAMPLE 1:
67 people commit to give $125 each month = $100,500
EXAMPLE 2:
1 person commits to give $2,500 each month = $30,000
2 people commit to give $1,500 each month = $36,000
5 people commit to give $500 each month = $30,000
15 people commit to give $25 each month = $4,500
Total = $100,500
EXAMPLE 3:
34 people commit to give $250 each month = $102,000
