Eucharistic Adoration: Tuesdays beginning at 9:00 a.m. until

Pastoral Care of the Sick: Contact the rectory to
request visitation of the sick, either at home or at
the hospital. Sacrament of the Anointing of the
Sick is offered as needed and seasonally in church.
Sacrament of Penance:
30 minutes prior to Mass time on Saturday evening or call the
rectory to arrange an appointment.
Sacrament of Baptism: Congratulations! Please call
the rectory for preparation and scheduling.
Sacrament of Marriage: Congratulations! Please call the rectory 6
months prior to the anticipated date of marriage in order to
allow sufficient time for preparation.
Registration: New parishioners, please fill out the registration card
in church and drop in the collection or call the rectory. We
look forward to meeting you and having you in our community.

receive the Sacraments.

THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Daniel 12:1-3 Hebrews 10:11-14, 18
Mark 13:24-32
“Next week we read for the last time in this liturgical year from the letter to the Hebrews and from the Gospel of Mark.
These last moments of Ordinary Time are filled with expectation for the Messiah's return. Daniel speaks of the coming
of Michael the archangel, a harbinger of the end times, and of the rising ‘of those who sleep in the dust of the earth.’
Mark's Jesus speaks of a time of great tribulation, when ‘the powers in the heavens will be shaken,’ while at the same time
reassuring the ancient Church that God will gather the ‘elect from the four winds.’
The imagery of the First and Gospel Readings may sound foreign to the assembly; on the other hand, with so much
‘tribulation’ in the past few years, from terrorism to war to economic challenges, some may wonder if the end times are not
upon us. As always, despite troubling signs and a troubled world, we Christians must proclaim our hope in ‘the author of
all that is good’. The celebration announces that hope in word, song, and prayer, always aware of the world around us but
always directed toward the coming of Christ.”

Dear Parish Family,
For some reason I just feel like I am in a thankful mode. You
may or may not be aware of it, but this little parish family continues
to accomplish a whole lot of stuff. I see a lot of good work and you
are consistently good. The Viability Study Team accomplished its
task of completing the Viability on time. This was truly a difficult
assignment, but we did an excellent job. We had at least 12 or
more people each time we met. Those sessions went for 2 hours
or longer and we prevailed. It was nice to see that our parish
made the grade with respect to the criteria set by the Archdiocese
of St. Louis. The study also brought to light some parish weaknesses,
but we have already begun to work on those things, like
for instance, doing more for our youth. I like the fact that parishioners
are talking, sharing their ideas and are executing the vision.
Keep up the good work and especially the good attitude. As in
any field we need those who work so hard behind the scenes and
those big time playmakers. Both are equally important and I just
want to say thank you, thank you. God loves you.

out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in
everything she had, her whole living.”

Jesus gets right to the point - we are all called to give money to
support the mission of the Church, regardless of our circumstance.
No gift is too small or insignificant! Giving money to support the
mission of our local parish is a matter of our faith, just like praying
and participating in parish ministries. When you make a financial
offering, is it from your “first-fruits” or from what is “left over”?
