SoundCard<br />

Who’s it for? Talented individuals who are<br />

passionate about singing and music<br />

Feeling inspired after watching Glee? If<br />

you dream of being part of a glee club,<br />

look no further than SoundCard. This<br />

group meets weekly to practise and<br />

learn new techniques, bond through<br />

singing, and improve on voice projection,<br />

harmony and expressing emotions<br />

through singing. Its members perform<br />

regularly at campus lunchtime concerts,<br />

and also organises an annual production.<br />

K-Wave Club<br />

Who’s it for? Hallyu fans, especially if<br />

you can name the members of various<br />

K-pop groups and know all their dances<br />

Watched every episode of Running Man<br />

and wish you, too, can play some of the<br />

games they show? Well, you can, at the<br />

K-Wave Club! Founded in 2014 by the<br />

current club president, this CCA aims to<br />

fire up interest in all things Korean, from<br />

pop and traditional culture to food and<br />

language, and enjoys strong support<br />

from the South Korean embassy.<br />

Chinese Orchestra<br />

Who’s it for? Musicians who play Chinese<br />

orchestral instruments and are keen to<br />

perform genre-breaking music<br />

Create pop music with traditional Chinese<br />

musical instruments! Led by talented<br />

conductor Mike Chiang (formerly with<br />

Singapore Chinese Orchestra), this<br />

award-winning 180-member orchestra<br />

is well-known for its versatility across a<br />

variety of music genres and has staged<br />

four consecutive sold-out K-Pop and pop<br />

music concerts at Esplanade – Theatres<br />

on the Bay in the past three years.<br />

Foreign Bodies<br />

Who’s it for? Street dance enthusiasts<br />

and aficionados<br />

Hip hop, popping, locking, street jazz,<br />

girls style, B-boy, house, waacking,<br />

dancehall and more. Move to the beat of<br />

these different street dance genres with<br />

NYP’s School of Groove, Foreign Bodies.<br />

An immensely popular CCA with more than<br />

100 active members, it puts up dynamic<br />

campus performances that always elicit<br />

rousing cheers from the audience. Its annual<br />

productions also always see a full house.<br />
