style. Embark on this tour of Rajasthan in India
and visit some of the state’s hidden gems.
Begin your holiday in the lap of luxury in
Delhi’s foremost hotel, The Lodhi. Take in the
atmosphere of a true cosmopolitan city before
travelling to Jaipur where you will stay for two
nights at the Samode Palace. Lying in the Aravalli
Hills, Samode Palace is an excellent example of
Rajput-Mughal architecture. From here travel
to Jodhpur and the bright lights of the city to
stay in the gorgeous RAAS. Set in Jodhpur’s old
walled city this boutique hotel offers a butler
serviced pool, a choice of two fantastic
restaurants and spectacular views of Meherangarh
Fort. The rooms are decorated in an understated
contemporary style, while traditional handcrafted
Jodhpur red sandstone jhali (windows)
provide a bright contrast.
Continue into the heart of the Great Thar
Desert, to Jaisalmer, where the Sujan Hotels have
given a two night stay at The Serai, an
‘outrageously luxurious’ camp situated in
stunning desert surroundings. Enjoy a peaceful
sundowner in the golden dunes under a star lit
sky.
A drive back East across the desert brings you
to Mihir Garh, just south of Jodhpur, where
you will stay for two nights. This luxury retreat
is located in complete wilderness and is truly
spectacular. It is famous for riding, desert picnics
and camel safaris.
From here, you will head south through
stunning countryside to The Jawai Leopard
Camp, situated north-west of Udaipur and a
fabulous base from which to witness the local
wildlife in its natural habitat. The Jawai
Leopard Camp has ten luxurious tents all situated
in beautiful landscapes surrounded by craggy
granite formations of caves.
Finally to Udaipur, also known as City of
the Lakes and a city rich in culture, history
and beautiful scenic locations. Bujera Fort is
Udaipur’s only boutique hotel and is situated on
the edge of the small rural village of Bujera just
outside the city. With a backdrop of the Aravalli
Hills, the views from the Fort are stunning and
the hotel offers a very relaxed ‘English country
house’ atmosphere. The perfect place to end your
Rajasthan odyssey!
On day 15 you will be driven to the airport in
time to board your flight to Bombay or Delhi.
