any applicable taxes. I agree that the bids are made in accordance with the Conditions of Sale which<br />
are printed in the catalogue for the auction and govern all purchases that I make (as amended by any<br />
announcement made by Sotheby’s or the Auctioneer at any time prior to the fall of the hammer).<br />
All Absentee Bids must be received by Sotheby’s no later than 5.00pm EST on the date of the<br />
auction. All bids made by telephone must be arranged in advance and are recorded.<br />

CONDITIONS Conditions OF of SALE Sale<br />
1. Sotheby’s acts as agent for the Countryside Alliance.<br />
Unless otherwise agreed, the sale of the Lots will result<br />
in contracts made between the Countryside Alliance<br />
and the Buyer.<br />
2.The Buyer shall be the person with the highest bid<br />
accepted by the auctioneer.<br />
3.The auctioneer has the right to refuse any bid and to<br />
advance the bidding at his absolute discretion and in the<br />
case of error or dispute, to put up an item for bidding<br />
again.<br />
4. Statements by the Countryside Alliance in the<br />
catalogue or made orally or in writing elsewhere,<br />
regarding the authorship, origin, date, age, size, medium,<br />
attribution, genuineness, provenance, condition or<br />
estimated selling price of any Lot are merely statements<br />
of opinion, and are not to be relied on as statements of<br />
definitive fact. Neither Sotheby’s nor the Countryside<br />
Alliance are responsible for the correctness of any such<br />
statement nor for any other errors of description or for<br />
any faults or defects in any Lots. Catalogue illustrations<br />
are for guidance only. Estimates of the selling price<br />
should not be relied on as a statement that this price is<br />
either the price at which the Lot will sell or its value for<br />
any other purpose.<br />
5. Buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves<br />
concerning the condition of the goods and the matters<br />
referred to in the catalogue description.<br />
6. If a prospective buyer gives Sotheby’s instructions<br />
to bid on his behalf, by using the form printed in the<br />
catalogue, Sotheby’s shall use reasonable efforts to do<br />
so, provided these instructions are received not later<br />
than 24 hours before the sale. If Sotheby’s receives<br />
commission bids on a particular Lot for identical<br />
amounts, and at auction these bids are the highest bids,<br />
it will be sold to the person whose bid was received<br />
first. Sotheby’s and the Countryside Alliance are not<br />
responsible for any errors with respect to commission or<br />
telephone bids.<br />
7. The Countryside Alliance and Sotheby’s cannot be<br />
liable for any personal injury or property damage which<br />
may arise out of any Lot.<br />
services for sale remains with the Donor until sale.<br />
9.The Estate and the person designated by it reserve the<br />
right to ask any gun to leave the field if he is shooting<br />
in a dangerous fashion, and no refund will be given.<br />
10.The anticipated bag for the day, subject to weather<br />
conditions, is as stated, but no warranty whatsoever is<br />
given in this respect.<br />
11.The Estate and the person designated by it reserve<br />
the right to cancel the day’s shoot before shooting<br />
begins in the event of adverse weather conditions.<br />
Buyers may like to take out pluvious insurance to cover<br />
such eventualities.<br />
12. Neither the Estate nor the Countryside Alliance are<br />
liable for any death or personal injury or loss or damage<br />
to equipment arising out of any accident that may occur<br />
in the course of a day’s shooting for any reason.<br />
13. Legal liability insurance (cover £10 million) will<br />
be provided through membership of the Countryside<br />
Alliance.<br />
14.The right to participate in the sporting event<br />
is personal to the purchaser and may not be sold,<br />
transferred, assigned or otherwise disposed of to any<br />
third party.<br />
15. Following the sale, the buyer must provide the<br />
Countryside Alliance with his or her name and<br />
permanent address.<br />
16. All Lots are to be paid for in full on the night of the<br />
sale at the Payment Desk. All Lots are to be collected<br />
by the buyer on the night of the sale, but no Lot can be<br />
taken unless it has first been paid for in full. The buyer<br />
will not acquire title to the Lot until all amounts due to<br />
the Countryside Alliance have been paid in full.<br />
17. These Conditions of Sale are subject to English<br />
law, which shall apply to their construction as well as<br />
to their effect. For Sotheby’s benefit, the Countryside<br />
Alliance and the buyer submit to the exclusive<br />
jurisdiction of the English courts from the time of<br />
collection, the Lot will be entirely at the Buyer’s risk.<br />

8. All items for sale have been donated to the<br />
Countryside Alliance. Title to the donated goods/<br />
