Volunteers enable Special Olympics to offer training<br />

and competition programs individuals with intellectual<br />

disabilities. Volunteer opportunities include coaching,<br />

assisting with<br />

special events, qualifiers and Camp Shriver summer<br />

camp.<br />

Special Olympics New Hanover County supports more<br />

than 500 athletes with Intellectual Disabilities in yearround<br />

training programs in 13 different sports and<br />

competing in local, regional and state-level events.<br />

Partners Needed:<br />

We’re looking for Unified Partners (non-Special Olympic<br />

athletes) to be partnered with our Special Olympic<br />

volleyball players. Please contact tiffany.lesley@<br />

wilmingtonnc.gov if you’re interested.<br />
