Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2016 HIGHLIGHTS WELCOME TO DAVE’S LEICESTER <strong>COMEDY</strong> FESTIVAL 2016! We continue to produce exclusive shows you simply cannot see anywhere else. This year these include The UK Pun Championships (taking place on, er, Punday 8th February), Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, Silver Stand Up, Hotel D’Comedie and Odd Couples. We’re thrilled to welcome comedy legends Johnny Vegas and Nicholas Parsons to the festival for special events. The festival has once again grown and this year we are proud to present over 780 events, across the 19 days! Every year more and more people visit the festival from across the UK and Europe and we look forward to welcoming them, as well as all our many loyal fans from Leicester & Leicestershire. What’s great about the festival is that audiences love seeing the “big” names and special events, but also flock to our many venues to check out the comedy stars of the future. This year we have more venues than ever before, so don’t just stick to the safe stuff. Explore the brochure and you will find some great shows by some of the greatest emerging talent. We’re also proud this year to have extended the festival into Leicestershire. Both the Tiger Roar With Laughter Fringe and the BIG Weekends will present over 30 shows across Leicester and Leicestershire. A huge thank you to the team at Dave, who are continuing their support as title sponsor. They are a great team to work with and we’re proud to have them on board for the 5th year. This year’s line-up includes shows by Arthur Smith, Brian Conley, David O’Doherty, Ed Byrne, Hal Cruttenden, Katherine Ryan, Sofie Hagen, Vic & Bob, Romesh Ranganathan, Sara Pascoe, Sean Hughes & Seann Walsh. We’re also thrilled to provide an opportunity for established comedians to try out new material – the festival is increasingly seen as being the place where acts give birth to their new shows.
