<strong>Accounting@Syracuse</strong> delivers Syracuse University’s<br />

Master of Science in Professional Accounting<br />

program to students all over the world. With<br />

classes and coursework completed online,<br />

<strong>Accounting@Syracuse</strong> offers the same curriculum<br />

content, faculty interaction, and hands-on learning<br />

as <strong>Whitman</strong>’s on-campus accounting program.<br />

Alumni of the on-campus program have gone on to<br />

work at some of the world’s top accounting firms,<br />

including Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PwC.<br />

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW<br />

<strong>Whitman</strong>’s renowned curriculum prepares you for the expanding roles accounting professionals play in<br />

today’s business landscape. Depending on your educational background, you will be placed into one of three<br />

sequences of study:<br />

Accounting Sequence<br />

30 Credits<br />

For students who hold an<br />

undergraduate degree in accounting.<br />

Business Sequence<br />

42 Credits<br />

For students who hold an<br />

undergraduate degree in business.<br />

Foundational Sequence<br />

48 Credits<br />

For students who hold an<br />

undergraduate degree in any subject<br />

other than business or accounting.<br />

Before beginning your program, you will meet with an <strong>Accounting@Syracuse</strong> advisor who will help you determine<br />

the exact number of credits and courses required, based on your prior academic work.<br />

As classes and coursework are completed online,<br />

<strong>Accounting@Syracuse</strong> gives you the opportunity to<br />

earn your degree while maintaining a full-time job.<br />

In order to deliver an online experience that is on par with our renowned residential program, we have taken<br />

Live <strong>Online</strong> Classes<br />

Hosted via webcam in a face-to-face online classroom, our weekly class sessions<br />

bring every student to the front of the class. You will be able to interact with<br />

classmates and professors in real time, share documents, participate in engaging<br />

Self-Paced Coursework<br />

Each week, you will complete assignments that include highly produced, multimedia<br />

content. Coursework can be completed 24/7 from any Internet-enabled device or<br />

downloaded to a mobile device to be completed with no Internet connection.<br />

Classes average 15 students to ensure each student receives personal attention<br />

from our renowned faculty members. <strong>Online</strong> classes are designed and taught by<br />

PREPARING FOR THE<br />

CPA EXAM<br />

The <strong>Accounting@Syracuse</strong> curriculum helps you<br />

develop the skills you need to succeed on the<br />

CPA exam.<br />

A certified public accountant (CPA) is licensed<br />

by a state board of accountancy. To earn the<br />

prestige associated with the CPA license,<br />

you are required to demonstrate knowledge<br />

and competence by meeting high educational<br />

standards, passing the CPA exam, and acquiring a<br />

specific amount of general accounting experience.<br />

The two most important aspects of becoming<br />

a CPA are passing the Uniform CPA Exam and<br />

meeting state licensing requirements.<br />

accounting can land jobs with private corporations,<br />

nonprofit organizations, and the government.<br />

Median salaries can range from about $62,000 for<br />

accountants and auditors to more than $100,000<br />

for financial managers or top executives—and<br />
