Emily Amarell is majoring in Psychology with a concentration in biological/
neurological psych and is pursuing the certificate in Markets and Management
studies. She has really loved her studies at Duke because they have given her both
the qualitative and quantitative skills to be successful in the work world, as well as
interpersonal, communicational, and life skills that are important at Duke and beyond.
Here at Duke, Emily is a student employee at the Alumni Association, on the
Panhellenic Standards Board, sings in many choirs, is a Resident Assistant, and, of
course, is a part of Beta Rho. Next year, she will be moving back to her home state
Connecticut where she will be pursuing a job with Travelers Insurance in their
interning consulting/product pricing division. Emily is very excited to apply everything
she has learned at Duke, academically and otherwise, as she ventures into the “real
world”. Sometime in the future, Emily hopes to attend business or law school.
Megan Bader is a senior studying Neuroscience with minors in Economics and
Chemistry. During her undergraduate career she has been involved in neuroeconomic
and education technology research, and this past year served on Theta's executive
team as Chief Panhellenic Officer. Based on her undergraduate experiences, Megan
knew that she wanted to find a job that would make use of her scientific background
(so that two years of organic chemistry and physics would not go to waste) but that
also allowed her to expand beyond academia and gain more industry experience.
Next year, Megan will be working at a consulting firm specializing in
biopharmaceutical and medical device services. She’s incredibly excited about the
position, as it uniquely integrates her academic interests in both science and
business. The only thing her time at Duke hasn’t quite prepared her for is the
formidable winter weather of Boston.
