An Improved Educational Experience
Over the summer of 2015, five classrooms on the second floor of the
Ryan Building on the Institute Campus were completely renovated.
Seniors Alex Cruz ’16, Aaron Funes ’16 and Joel
Granados ’16 take notes and research information
during Mr. Steve Hopkins’ class.
Classrooms 213,
214, 218, 219 and
220 received brandnew
HVAC (heating,
ventilation and
air conditioning)
units along with
new lighting, doors,
dropped ceilings and
whiteboards while also
receiving new coats of
paint.
In addition, each of the classrooms also received updated flooring as
vinyl tile was installed.
The cost of renovating each classroom was $25,000 apiece.
Two of the science labs (Rooms 215 and 216) also had their renovations
– that had begun in 2013 – completed at a cost of $12,000 each.
Concluding the
renovations was
the installation
of new
carpeting in the
second-floor
hallway of the
Ryan Building.
