Girls Swimming
The girls swimming team garnered its initial
victory of the season as it defeated host Solorio
Academy 81-78 in nonconference competition.
The Meteors’ 200 medley relay team of Mya
Wallace ’19, Leslie Garfias ’18, Leticia Bradsfield
’19 and Erin Hughes ’16 posted a winning time of
2:13.16.
The quartet of Bradsfield, Jazmin Garcia ’17,
Mia Hayford ’16 and Hughes prevailed in the 200
relay (1:53.63), while the foursome of Wallace,
Hayford, Bradsfield and Hughes also placed first
in the 400 relay (4:10.78).
Individually, Wallace won the 200 IM (2:31.41)
and the 100 butterfly (1:10.84), while Hughes was
victorious in the 50 free (26.58).
Girls Tennis
The Meteors began their season with a 4-1 victory
over GCAC opponent Queen of Peace. In the
ensuing match against GCAC foe Resurrection, De
La Salle lost 4-1 despite a three-set victory at No. 1
singles by Joya Wright ’17.
Also contributing during the season for the
Meteors were singles player Kaiya Wheaten ’19
and the doubles tandems of Karina Utreras ’16
and Olivia Nunez ’17, Olivia Garcia ’16 and
Caroline Wood ’19 and Corina Perez ’16 and
Adrianna Mena ’18.

Girls Volleyball
The Meteors were 14-4 overall as of the
printing deadline and ranked No. 9 in the Daily
Southtown’s Top 10.
Along with victories over GCAC opponents
DePaul Prep, Resurrection, Queen of Peace
and Bishop McNamara, De La Salle recorded
wins against nonconference foes Oak Lawn and
Whitney Young. In tournament play, the Meteors
were second at the Chicago Christian Tournament
and fifth at the Maine East Tournament.
Middle hitter Kelly Lewis ’16 (pictured on left)
was chosen to the All-Tournament First Team at
Chicago Christian while libero/defensive specialist
Dominique Arcieri ’16 (pictured on right) was
selected to the All-Tournament Second Team.
