to try out a
Swedish Full Body Massage

This really was the perfect antidote to festive,
or post-festive stress, and left me feeling blissed
out - and beautifully scented - for the rest of
the day. Hannah, the owner of Just Heaven,
showed me to the cosy upstairs treatment
room, before leaving me to get ready for my
treatment. I slipped under the warm cover of
the treatment table and waited a few moments.
I’ve had a few massages in my time, including
sports massages, and like a firm massage and
muscle rub, rather than a tickle... and this
was the perfect combination. Hannah started
on the backs of legs, before working up to
my back and shoulders, using ‘revitalising’
(rather than relaxing) bergamot and mint
massage oil by the French company, Payot.
The light oil was just right for this time of
year, when one’s skin tends to be a little dry,
but did not feel heavy or greasy... and the
smell was gorgeous. I lost track of time, so
when Hannah had finished on my back and
neck, I was convinced that my massage was
over. It was a lovely surprise to find out that
my feet, front of legs, arms and face were still
in for a treat. The foot rub was especially nice
and reminded me of a relaxing reflexology
treatment. Hannah was great at finding knots
and tension I didn’t realise I had - from the
usual places, such as my shoulders and calves,
to less obvious places such as the palms of
my hands. She finished by using a scented,
cool moisturiser on my face, and eliminated
the last bit of tension in my forehead. After
a minute or two to compose myself, post
treatment, I drove home basking in the scent
of massage oil and moisturiser. The effects of
my full body massage will last much longer.
