Wealden Times magazine is a celebration of
all the things we love and cherish from
across the Weald and the counties of Kent and
Sussex. From homes and gardens, to artists and
designers. The Midwinter Fair is an extension
of this good intention. Whilst many of our
exhibitors now travel from further afield,
most are independent retailers, creators,
and makers. They have all put their heart
and soul into designing and sourcing the
products before you and many of them
will have a tale to tell about what inspired
them or how they discovered them. When
you buy from an independent retailer,
you aren’t benefiting distant corporate
shareholders, you’re contributing to dance
lessons, new football boots, or school
trips for their children. You’re putting food
on their table. And that always feels good.
We take as much care to curate the Fair,
blending exhibitors that we know you love, with
new ones that we think are really special and who
help keep the event fresh and exciting. We also
ensure there’s just the right amount of fashion,
jewellery, bags, homeware, gifts, and art, plus
lots of artisan food and drink in our Food Hall.
In between all the shopping, we hope that
you’ll pause a while and enjoy some fresh brewed
coffee, a glass of bubbly, and some delicious
delights from our street food vendors. And if you
can, do make time to listen to the very best local
school choirs as they sing some festive songs.

songs in our food tents. This year
