The Spring Rapids Trail System is located…
approximately 5 miles west of Crivitz off of County Road W onto Kirby Lake Lane. The trailhead is
located directly off of Kirby Lake Lane and there is an ample parking lot. This system offers approximately
6 mi. /16 km. of trails.

Ski Etiquette and Rules
❖ If an injury occurs, dial 911 (Marinette
County Sheriff) or the state forest offi ce.
The nearest payphone is at the Corner
Convenience Amoco Station, 3 miles west on
County Road W.
❖ Snowmobiles, ATV’s, and dogs are prohibited
on the trail. Do not walk or snowshoe on the
groomed ski trails.
❖ All ski trails are one-way except for the
Riverview Trail and Trail Link. Always
follow the proper direction on one-way trails
for your safety, the safety of others, and to
maintain the quality of the ski track.
❖ “You are Here” maps are posted at the
intersections. A large map is posted at
the trailhead. Trails are marked with their
appropriate diffi culty sign and the crosscounty
skier symbol(brown and white).
❖ All the trails are groomed for skate and
diagonal skiers.
❖ Skiers should ski within their own abilities.
Always leave space between other skiers and
alert others when passing. Control speed on
down hills.
❖ Trails range from easy to diffi cult, some
including very steep hills. Please use extreme
caution.
❖ Portions of the trails cross private land.
Please respect the private landowners and do
not trespass-stay on the trail.
❖ If you must ski alone, advise someone of
your route and time of return.
❖ Every effort is made to groom trails as
quickly as possible. Even the best-groomed
trails can be affected by trail usage and
weather conditions.
❖ A snowmobile trail does travel on Kirby Lake
Lane, in addition to vehicular traffic. Skiing
on the road can be dangerous!
❖ A candle-light ski is a popular way to spend
a winter evening. The state forest holds
its annual candlelight ski on the second
Saturday in February. Please call the state
forest office for more details.
❖ Please report any safety hazards to the forest
office.
❖ We are interested in your comments and
suggestions. There is a comment box at the
trailhead. Feel free to contact the State Forest
office.
