Business Park becomes
benchmark with SGM lighting
LD and founder of Brainwave Designs,
Mr. Sushant Surve, was recently tasked
with a challenging fixed façade installation
in Ahmedabad, India, for owner
of the Parshwanath Business Park,
Mr. Rushabh Patel. As his tools to solve
the task at hand, he selected the SGM
G-Spot moving head and the SGM Q-7
RGBW flood blind strobe.
Sushant Surve came up with a concept of
creating an illusion of making the fins of the
building move during night to enhance the
architecture. He explains: “We were looking
to wash the complete façade with flawless
colour changing and various animations to
make the building look different and fresh
every time someone looks at it. The main
challenge was to swathe the entire façade
of 2500sq m from a distance of 8 meters.
And as the complete building façade has
fins coming out and going in, the challenge
was to create perfect angles without spilling
light inside of the building.”
SGM G-Spot
Deploying the powerful
SGM LED luminaires,
he managed to achieve
the desired effect with
a low quantity of two
G-Spots and four Q-7s.
“We always considered
using LED fixtures, as
their high lumens and
low power consumption
helped us to
Rushabh Patel
achieve our intent with just six fixtures,
which ultimately resulted in less wiring and
less maintenance,” Sushant informs.
SGM’s dealer, Lightlabs, programmed the
system as per the client’s requirements
using a DMX controller.
The main challenge for the team challenge
was to achieve the exact focus zoom values
(coordinates) of the G-Spot with the two
fixtures as both were not equidistant from
the façade. One G-Spot and two Q-7s were
installed at each two corners of the building
façade, fixed on poles.
