Ferguson for Glasgow FINAL

Dear friend,
I have been an active member of the Labour Party for many
years and a proud trade unionist for even longer.
My ideals were shaped by my early life in Maryhill and in Red
Road and the people in those communities and communities
like them inspire me every day.
I never cease to be amazed by the resilience of people in the
communities of Glasgow and the way they work together to
make life better for their areas.

Politics for me is about adding my support and the support of
the wider movement to their efforts and I know that it is only
the Labour Party that can make a real difference in their
lives.
As an elected member I have listened to my constituents and
have worked with them to protect local transport links and
local services. When many of my constituents raised with me
the fact that they couldn’t resolve problems with their property
factor I changed the law to regulate the industry.
I will continue to stand up for my home city of Glasgow in
the weeks and months ahead and I want to be part of a
strong team of MSPs with the passion and experience to make
a difference.
