DUTCH POSTCODE LOTTERY AWARDS
€2,400,000 ($2,719,000) IN SUPPORT
This year the Dutch Postcode Lottery (Nationale Postcode Loterij) honored Rocky Mountain
Institute and Carbon War Room with awards of €900,000 and €500,000, respectively, totaling
€1,400,000. The Lottery also announced an extra project grant of €1,000,000 specifically in support
of our Shipping Efficiency's Operation: LeaderShip, which will further inroads to realize the
carbon emissions reductions and cost savings currently locked in the global shipping industry,
including an effort to help global ports, like the Port of Rotterdam, become superefficient.
Presented at its annual Goed Geld ("Good Money") Gala in January 2015 in Amsterdam, this
marks the seventh consecutive year the Lottery has honored us with its generous support.
Since 1989, the Dutch Postcode Lottery has been raising funds to support organizations working
for a fairer, greener world. Fifty percent of its income goes to charity. The Lottery has grown to
become the Netherlands' biggest charity lottery and the world's second-largest private charitable
donor in the world. It has given over €4.4 billion to human and environmental causes since its
founding. At its 2015 Gala, the Lottery awarded a record €312 million to 92 charities. We are
honored to be a beneficiary and partner of the Postcode Lottery, whose funding is instrumental
in carrying out our mission, significantly expanding our reach and strengthening and speeding
our impact.
