Dietetics (BHND)<br />
Introduction<br />
Dieteticians apply the science of nutrition in the maintenance of health in each of the life cycle stages as<br />
well as to the dietary management of various disease conditions. Our 4 year dietetics degree program<br />
equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to practice in any of the 3 key focus areas of the<br />
profession, i.e. Therapeutic Nutrition, Community Nutrition and Food Service Management.<br />
Career Opportunities<br />
Professional opening for graduates in Human<br />
Nutrition and Dietetics include the ministries<br />
of Health, Agriculture, Private and Government<br />
Hospitals, Hospices and Non-Governmental<br />
Organisations (NGO’s) and other community<br />
service oriented organisations. Graduates of the<br />
programme can be deployed in the community<br />
as field nutritionists by government ministries or<br />
NGO’s.<br />
Entry Requirements<br />
Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or<br />
its equivalent with two principle passes in either<br />
Physics, Chemistry or Biology<br />
Diploma in Health Sciences from a recognized<br />
institution<br />
