est season for fashion! All this to say – there are some key aspects of any look that you should be incorporating into your Wintumn
looks. Remember these are just my tips but you should adjust as you see fit to mold into your own personal style:
1. 2. 3.
An Oversized Pair of
Sunnies: The sun may
not be as hot as it is in
the summertime, but
sunglasses are definitely
a necessity year round. A
big pair of shades are the
perfect accessory to any outfit, whether you
have a lunch date or you’re spending the
day at the gym and running errands. They
have the ability to instantly make you feel
glamorous – which is how you should feel
everyday!
Camel Clothes: Yes, I
rode a camel in Morocco
but I’m not talking
about the animal here.
Camel coats have been
on trend for over a
year now but the super
functional color has recently transcended
almost every article of clothing. My choice
of camel, photographed, is my top. It is a
suede short-sleeved shirt that makes it
great for unpredictable Wintumn weather.
Extra tip: Go for suede anything during
these months! It adds an instant posh feel
to your look.
Denim, Denim,Denim:
I’ve heard so many
contrasting opinions
on denim. Some are
completely “over,” it
while others swear by
it. I fall into the latter
category. I think you can dress for almost
any occasion with denim and the many
different washes, styles, and cuts that they
come. My favorite in the cooler months is
darker denim while my preferred cut and
style is high waist and straight legged. The
higher waist is great for a slimming look
and the straight leg is perfect to pair with
any type of shoe.
4. 5. 6.
Maroon into Deep Red:
Pretty broad suggestion,
I know. However, that is
exactly how I feel about
any deep red color when
it comes to fashion and
style. Photographed, I
incorporated a maroon into my look by
painting my toes. It pops out from my open
toe heels (still can’t believe I’m wearing
them in December) perfectly. Deep reds
are both festive and stylish this time of
year without looking like a Christmas
ornament. Give it a try whether subtly or as
a statement piece.
Shades of Grey: If
you were to look in my
closet, you may begin
feeling a little “grey.”
It’s my personal favorite
color to wear because
of its versatility. I am
photographed wearing my favorite grey
duster coat that I purchased from Zara. It’s
great for the in-between weather. This may
be my most used item in the cooler months
– I wear with my favorite skirts and heels
AND with my gym clothes and running
sneakers. It makes all my looks appear well
put together.
Pump it Up, Comf it
Up: I’m a heel girl. I get
home after a long day
and want to run around
the house with my heels
on (Thank you God for
inventing heel inserts).
However, I know that’s not the norm. I
always encourage women to wear heels
even if it is just on occasion – there’s just
something about how strong and powerful
they can make a woman feel. If you haven’t
already scored a pair, begin your search for
a comfy pair of heels that are versatile. I’m
photographed in this article in mine – a
pale pink pair of heels. I love them because
of the feminine color and the thicker heel,
which makes them great for any outfit
during any event – no matter the length.•
