VISION 2016

Amazing Family at Turning Point,
On Behalf of the Elders, I want to thank you for all that you have brought to the life of our
family here at Turning Point. We cannot thank you enough for the generosity you have
shown with the giving of your Time, Talent and Treasure in 2015. We have seen God do so
much since we first began in February 2013, however, we feel the time is right to just bring
things into a little sharper focus as a family.
So, the elders have been prayerfully seeking God since September to think through how He
wants us to lead the church going into 2016 and beyond. We believe that we have heard
from God, and are looking forward to all that He has for us. In light of this we have reworked
our mission statement and have a clear vision for 2016, that we requires everyone of us to
work together, for our Senior Pastor Jesus.
In addition, we have also included a copy of ‘We are Family’, as a reminder and a framework
for how we are seeking to live in family and on mission for Jesus together.
We are aware there is a lot to think about, and digest, so we ask that you prayerfully think
through how you can be a part of what God is doing through Turning Point. We have also
included in this booklet a ‘Me in 2016’ sheet, to help you focus this year, and your family
group leaders will be discussing this with you.
So this year, let us pray for each other, be rooted in the Word of God as we see Jesus made
much of.

MISSION STATEMENT
Turning Point is a Gospel Priority Church.
As so, we are committed to see each person
To GROW into full maturity as a disciple of Christ.
To SERVE God’s mission together with our Time Talent and Treasure.
To equip and SEND one another as missionaries for Jesus, into our broken
communities, with the hope, truth and love of the Christ.

VISION 2016
GROWAs a living body we are going to GROW, shape and change. We are going to achieve this
together by;
• Aiming to see 95%+ of our family in regular and active small group discipleship.
• Developing our 1-2-1 discipleship, so that we can each be discipled and disciple someone.
SERVE As part of a family, God calls each person to serve Him with their TIME, TALENT and
TREASURE. In order for our LOVE towards God and others to grow, we are called to be good stewards of
all that He has given to us.
These are the three main areas that we want SERVE God in together:
TIME – We want you to invest the gift of TIME into our various family activities in order that we can
GROW together towards maturity in Christ. We also want to invest our Time into helping those who don't
yet know Jesus meet Him.
TALENT - As a family we have a wide range of TALENTS that we have been blessed with. Therefore, we
want to see each family member serving people through our various teams.
TREASURE - We are asking each person to seek God to how much they should financially contribute
towards our family. As we are seeking see an overall increase of our income by 20% this year in order to
fulfil our Families GROWING, SERVING AND SENDING. As we want to continue to serve financially in
various ways, both for our church family at Turning Point and to the wider parts of the family of God.
SEND We want to equip each member of our family, from the youngest to the eldest, in various ways,
to live on mission for Jesus day-to-day, so that together we may GROW.
As part of our Vision 2016, we are looking to be intentional about releasing people to develop, lead and
serve in areas of ministry and mission within our family and beyond.
AS This year we want to help 20 people to become followers of Jesus, and to be added to our family. To do
this, we need everyone, everyday, to live on mission for Jesus.

GIVING YOUR TREASURE
The bible calls us again and again to be faithful in the giving our money, and frames it as part of our worship
to God, for all His generosity and faithfulness to us. The bible uses words like giving, offerings and tithes
(which is 10% of all that we have received), in Malachi 3:10, God calls us to, ‘Bring the full tithe into the
storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I
will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.’
Not that we ever give to get back, but we can see that as we give, our generous and faithful Father pours in
blessings to us, as we partner with Him by stewarding our finances well. The key is that giving is an act of
worship and should be a joyful overflow of our relationship with Him, as can be seen in 2 Corinthians 9:7
where it states ‘Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for
God loves a cheerful giver.’ So we are asking that you search the scriptures for yourself on this matter, and
pray to God to lead your heart.
We want you to be assured that all that you give, goes to seeing the Kingdom of God advance here at
Turning Point, through partnerships, such as LOVE:Boscombe, and to support those who work in the
Kingdom of God in both the United Kingdom and Overseas.

In addition, if you are a UK Tax payer, then the government will give Turning Point 25% on top of what you
give, as we are registered charity. All you need to do is fill out a form, and if you give cash, place it in a gift
aid envelope, fill out the envelope and we will do the rest.

WE ARE FAMILY
As a Family, in light of Jesus words in John 13:35 we agree to
That we will treat each all with love respect and honour, no matter what peoples race, gender, back grounds
etc happens to be as we believe that all people are the image bearers of God!
That we will not gossip about anyone to anyone, either inside or outside the church. Thus, not bringing the
name of Christ and his church into disrepute
That if we have an issue with anyone we will, according to Scripture in Matthew 18:15-20, firstly seek to
approach that person face to face in a loving, none judgemental or confrontational way to address the issue
and try and make peace with each other. If this doesn't work or you feel uncomfortable doing so, you should
ask your family group leader to go with you. If this doesn't work, then you are to approach a member of the
eldership who will intervene. It is to be noted some issue are serious such as moral, criminal or ethical and
therefore should be brought to the immediate attention of the elders, who will discuss it and deal with it.
Participate actively in the life of the church, by contributing with our time, talents and resources to see the
kingdom of God advance, as we desire not to be consumers but participators
As Leaders within the family, who in light of Hebrews 13:17 , we pledge that
We will treat people with respect and honour as we interact with, shape, grow and develop members of the
family
That we will repent when make mistakes, unintentionally hurt anybody or do not act in line with the biblical
requirements of leadership in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9.
We will act with honour, integrity and transparency (where possible) with how we spend the money that is
given.
We will treat anything discussed with us appropriately. By this we mean that we reserve the right to discuss
issues with senior members of the team where appropriate. In addition, if we receive information either
directly or indirectly that places somebody at risk or is of a severe moral or criminal then we will pass
relevant information on to the authorities.This would include, and by no means is exhaustive, things like
perceived child abuse, or acts of physical violence. As we are duty bound under the law to do so.
That when we have to intervene in the lives of the members of the church due to a moral, spiritual or ethical
failure then we will do so in consultation with the members of the senior leadership team and it would always
be motivated by love and initially done in full privacy. Should our conversation be ignored, or in extreme
circumstances, for the safety and protection of the innocent and vulnerable would reserve the right to speak
about it publicly and to ask the individual or individuals in question to leave the church, either temporarily
or permanently
